Resting system!

The running is not something I had much time to look into to. An ideal system would run to guild, run while mining and rest on the way back. Or if it had enough energy, it could rest at the bank. And if it is getting ores too slowly because of other players stealing then due to them running, it could rest until it reaches 100%. That way it can continue on running and whoever was running before will probably be done.

Damn, I really gotta suggest this idea to msi >.>

Everyone remembers the resting option in RS? Running can considerably speed up tasks if you run at the right times. I'd suggest we make a resting system. We can even consider using 'resting spots' ;)

Not a bad idea at all RM :)

I've thought about this a few times actually, just never had time to act upon it I suppose >.<

I always have thought that SRL should have its own resting system. iBot has a pretty sweet one. When I choose the resting option on there flax bot I get an extra 200 flax an hour.

Even more effective if you can find musicians ;)

Yea they speed up the process quite a bit.

this should be reccomended to the SRL devs as well.

I don't understand, explain to me how its possible to incorporate this into SRL's include.

a rest function that makes the character rest (ideally until it gets to a labeled percent)

sorry if there already is one, if there is i'm not aware of it.

E: obviously when to rest/how long would be made by the scripter, not the SRL include

There's a function to setrest, but the energy detection for the run meter is extremely inefficient to loop OCR for that long. I would have to say getcolor is the best way to detect the run level.

Things like this are best done custom though, imo.

I'll add an option to do this in my world walker

EDIT: Oh, hey, MSI Contributor Cup :)

I never understood the resting system. Does your energy really replenish fast enough for it to be worth resting for 30 seconds rather than walking?

That mining example was a good one though. We could easily add an MSI_Rest() call when waiting for objects to spawn.

yes, if you're walking a long distance. it's faster to run as far as you can from lumby to varrock, rest to 100% run, and repeat.

As for resting while waiting for objects to respawn, that is highly bot-like IMHO

Wouldn't work well with mining either since the wait times are generally near nothing.

I almost think it would be enough to just rest before leaving an area until your Run percent >= RandomRange(90, 100); 'area' meaning Bank, trees, rocks, etc.

To the usefulness, it is useful if you have high agility, otherwise, it's virtually the same (to walk, or to rest then run). But if you, for example, have 99 agility, then resting and then running is faster than walking.

But I don't think that should be the point. People tend to be worried about getting b&, and this is definitely good anti-ban, in my opinion. People take breaks. I'd sometimes move the mouse off screen for a couple minutes of resting then come back.

Both sound reasonable to me.

I can add both quick before I go to bed if you want?

This has been committed.

MSI will now rest if your energy is lower than RandomRange(70, 95); when leaving an 'area'. (Bank, Mine, Trees, etc.)
