MSI Walkers!

Suggested by nickrules in this thread.

I find this to be a great idea. If cstrike's anywhere walker works well, it would be easy to make a SCRIPT_ARMY_MOVE. It would also be possible to just simply state what script you want to use and MSI would automatically walk you there (could be done in SetupPlayer).

And as a sidenote, I'm starting to think that ARMY scripts could be a very cool idea.

Do enough people even have an 'army' these days to make use of it?

It would be easy enough to implement though I'm sure.

It'd be so little work it'd be worth the effort for those who do have armies.

We can use mine or mixsters if the user has turned reflection off :)
I'll edit it and make it more reliable and match the MSI standards

I like that idea Zyt3x.

Alternatly, perhaps, a system like… SPAMS i think it was called? meh, can't remember. it was made by mixter, and used the worldmap to make a path. Problem is, it requires the user to be pretty much on a road. But was 100% color, and worked great.

With SPAMS you had to download a plugin and was quite slow from my experiences… It also required you to save a bitmap over the runescape map, but yeah… it worked quite well when all the calculations were done :)
We could go together to create the best color walker ever made on SRL, if he wants to.. I don't know if he's still active though :/

Hmmm….. I might be thinking of the wrong thing then. It was one of mixters world walkers. I know that he made two. One made a billion bitmaps in your folder, the other was just one colored with dots on the roads. Can't remember.

But really, it only takes like 5 or 10 seconds if i remember correctly. which is pretty fast.

Imo 5-10 seconds is waaay to slow :o

Just include both. I'd even say put Zytex's as default since he's still around to maintain it.

Good idea, the more options there is (That works, ofc) the better it is

I'll update mine and commit it when it's ready for MSI :)
Idk when I'll get to commit mixster's though

Why not load one, click, load one, click, etc.? Wouldn't it take no time at all? (Well, no noticeable time..)

I don't completely understand what you're saying. But, if you're wondering, the system looks at the worldmap once and then constructs a path, and never looks at it again.

So should I continue working on my script for MSI? Or will it not be included in MSI?
Just wondering :)

Your World Walker? Absolutely! :)
The more options you have, the better it is.

cstrike, if you feel like it you can even try to implement it into MSI yourself ;) Perhaps have a chat with coh3n, blumblebee or NCDS as they'd probably all know the walking system from the back of their heads.
