What is the best free one?
Or do you know some good costing ones that have been cracked?
Wizzup?

The best way is to just learn HTML & CSS. Then write it from scratch in some text editor.

Depending on what you are doing. You might find this useful.
http://www.silverstripe.org/E: I agree with Wizzup?. If you are looking for a generally good text editor, I suggest Notepad++. That can be found at
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ .

Can you give us some details to what you want to be pushing out? All of these have their strengths and weaknesses.

I'm not looking for any super special tools as I wouldn't know how to use them.

Try something out, and then post what you like/dislike about it.

If you don't mind my asking, what style of website are you editing?

Nothing really. Just trying to learn how to make websites.

Then learning HTML & CSS and writing web-pages in a text editor (like most professionals) is the way to go… Trust me/us, lol.

There is actually a really easy one to use, thats wysiwyg, and it belongs to Google. It will allow you to do some basic html - until you learn to get more advanced by learning html.
Create a new Google Doc, design the site how you want. You won't be able to add frames, but it's a good basic html editor. When you have everything you want in the design, goto edit -> edit html. Then copy everything, into something like notepad++ (I used editplus), and put it all between the body tags <body></body> of the page you want to edit.
If you want a bit more control then what google docs provides, you can also use TinyMCE, using the same method listed above.
To learn html, look up the tags at w3schools.com.
Occasionally programs such as dreamweaver will add in extra characters or not look like it's supposed to. Don't ever use it to edit text documents. It's not a basic editor. I mention this because I had a friend mess up his site when he was editing php, thinking he could use dreamweaver as a text editor.
