Today, during 5th period an announcement came over the intercom telling everyone with a 6th period in the lower J building (downstairs english building) to meet in the quad, along with the wrestling team. i instantly had my suspicions, seeing as that my english teacher a) taught in the downstairs j building and b) is the head coach of the wrestling team. At track practice my coach confirmed my suspicions :( He seemed perfectly normal during 4th period when i had him. the cause of his death is unnanounced.
i'm not sure how i should take this - i barely know him (only been in class for 2 weeks now), but from what i saw he was a really nice person and was good at teaching :( now there's either going to be a diaspora of his students into other classes or i'm getting a permanent sub… either would suck.

I am very sorry to hear that. I know how that goes though. A few years back, my biology teacher died of a heart attack right before school started. He was one of those teachers that was more than a teacher, and taught more than school. Every other week he would do a magic trick for the class (completely legit mastery), and every other other week he would play an instrument. He was a wizard with cards, and knew how to play many instruments and sing well. It saddens me still..
I hope that you are able to get a really good replacement or permasub. Rough stuff man. We went through 4 teachers over the next semester. But eventually the school got a replacement that was deserving of the position.

It's a sad fact of life to most, but everyone goes eventually :/
It's normal that it would make you feel uncomfortable, but there's nothing anyone could do about it.
Just don't let it get you too down, there's always people here who are willing to listen if you need someone to talk to :) .

People die. I know that when I die I won't want people to mourn. That's not how I lived my life or want to cause others to live their life. Continue on. Know that you could die next. If you did, would you be happy with your life? (Rhetorical.)

Why did you suspect it was your english teacher and not any other teacher in the vicinity? Why did you think it was death rather than a gathering?

For my story, there was a teacher at my school who walked home to his wife who hung herself in the doorway. I can't imagine what he thought when he came home :(

For my story, there was a teacher at my school who walked home to his wife who hung herself in the doorway. I can't imagine what he thought when he came home :(
well he's the coach for wrestling, and they cleared out the ~entire~ downstairs building. it seemed more likely that something was bad rather than good. and i didnt think that it was a death, just maybe he had been hurt.
