Botting in RS without client.

I read about WoW botting, and most of the big botters use a fully text based client to bot, and just imput to act…

Would it be possible for RuneScape ?

the chinese bot was only text. No idea how they did it though… So it should be possible.

Rsdemon was a packet bot. Was so detectable might has well put a 300 foot banner saying I username ban me.

In rsc many bots used to just keep sending their own commands to the client.

For example when you attack a goblin it sends a command like AttackNpc(ID). The bot would just keep sending the commands without even moving the mouse.

So yes I belive it's possible.

I still have a account from using RSDemon, NOT BANNED.

A disadvantage is that it's really easy for Jagex to add some special quirk to their protocol just to trap botters. This is what they did for the original AutoRune mass ban among others. Going through the client for all input avoids such traps. Reflection is passive, and Jagex can't detect it without some sorts of huge JVM/JNI trickery that would surely be a huge privacy violation that they'd get complaints for.

But please, if anyone is gonna browse moparisthebest, don't make an account to spam it with un-knowledgeable crap haha

here is an epic day of runescape (i was there, twas madness), its an explanation of a very old bot called autorune which sent commands directly to runescape server, and how an exploit was found effectively making autorune the only hack to ever exist in rs

Thats an interesting thought. I wasn't to aware of how WoW players used bots to began with it. I think it would be possible for RS to use a text based client in my opinion.
