Open BM to Jr. Members

In a PM Wizzup? sent me, he suggested the idea of opening to Black Market to lower ranks:
Perhaps we can make it so that non srl-members can post replies in the BM but not make threads…
Perhaps we could follow Wizzup?'s idea, and open the BM to JMs (or Registered Users as well?), but only allow them to post, and not create threads. This would liven the BM up, whilst keeping scamming to a minimum. What do you guys think?

Richard.

PS: Wizzup? said I could post this here.

How would it keep scamming to a minimum?

+1 from me too, although definetly keep requirements to Juniours.

Actually, I think they should be able to create threads as well.

I think Jr's is OK. Especially now that the requirement is significantly higher now.

Only SRL Members would be able to create threads, meaning that Junior members can't sell things, but can buy things. It would be the same is it is now, but open to a bigger buyer base.

Obviously it would still be possible to scam, but chances are less you may get scammed.

I think the staff should discuss this first. It has always been a very tedious subject.

You could profit, because more people means more chances to make a deal.
opposite…
You could loose, because more people also means more bad dealers.

when somebody for ex. tries to scam, and if he really gets to that point, they should receive a 1 month (more/less (idk if this also happens to us srl members but i never seen such a thing happening.)), also a perm ban for market(with ip market ban ofc, if that's possible). Also i don't think it really matters if JR can create threads or not, so not such a big thing IMO, But i'd like seeing them with the rights to create threads.

That's what i think about it :D.

Why more bad dealers? There will be the same dealers as there are now, because as suggested there should only be SRL members posting threads. I agree with this idea 100 percent. RSCA(before being hacked) used a similar form of market and it was more lively then ours…but now they are moving to a more secure market that requires more certification(payments).

Why more bad dealers, just take a look at rsbot, lots of scammers hanging around, because of the population, its hard to remember somebody there.

Now, lets say we open BM to JRs… you gotta deal with guys you absolutely don't know who they really are, most of them made 10 posts and 1 week just to leech the scripts… That's what you going to deal with.

But still i don't say that this is a bad idea(about open BM to JRs), on the contrary, i really like it, i just think about the facts that could happen.

No, but the whole point is that JM can only buy things, they can't sell things.
Therefore JM's cannot scam, because they will obviously go first to a Member.

The requirements for JM have been changed…they are a lot harder. Plus don't give them Thread Creation powers duh :P

I agree, say give it like a month trial and if more than a predetermined amount scams occur axe it!

SOunds like a very good idea to get it thriving again, well it never really thrived but you get my point :)

It's a good idea because SRL has a good rep for having very little scammers. This would attract new comers who like to do business on Runecape. Honestly I think Rsbot evolved pretty fast when they added there Black market.

I think it should be given a test run if it goes bad we can always change back.
