This forum is a very simple and straight-forwarded 'experiment'.

As you've all noticed, these forums have cups, which go to show someone's contribution towards something.

These are usually granted at administrator's discretion and at nudges from those who keep their eyes open. If your eyes happen to be open, and they happen to spot a Junior Member who seems deserving of a cup, this would be the place to point it out.

I'll emphasize the point that this is for Juniors only and that this is to be a secret benefit of being an SRL Member.

Don't tell juniors, they'll come bothering you.
Don't tell juniors, they'll befriend you for the wrong reasons.
Don't tell juniors, as this is an experiment that if it works out wrong, it'll be put under the ax.

So what does SSRL's role become?

Well first of all, as part of such roll, you could post your opinions on the threads about the issues, plans and whatever that are of concern to you, such as this one.

As far as I know, SSRL privileges are not publicly announced anywhere, so no need to say what they are, as there never was a need. Why else would I go through the trouble of hinting that SSRL may or may not do it rather than just saying it out right?

Now to answer your concerns,

[fact] Cup nominations have been few in a long time, as previously pointed out.
[fact] Seldom of this nominations are for juniors
[fact] SRL Members as a group is more likely to maintain scripts than SSRL as a group
[deduction] Therefore SRL members are more likely to be in contact with juniors
[deduction] Therefore SRL members are more likely to notice the correct juniors
[Vague Thought] Some juniors would probably get tester cups thanks to this

[Concrete Thought] It is easier to notice those the rank just below you, than those further down the ladder.

[fact] Junior's Lookout is to reward juniors only

[Conclusion] The Junior's Lookout is taking very little from SSRL, but adding a lot to Members. Furthermore, the Junior's Lookout may add to SSRL, as we get one more place to see who has a particular 'skill' for noticing which juniors deserve cups.

Next time please consider posting on the proper thread?

I agree with you here, though a testing cup is really all I can think of to get awarded to a jr. member as they would be a member already if they deserved any of the other cups?

Agree with both of these. The [deduction] could prove to be a big negative though, thinknig back to the "rep parties" or whatever they were called with jr's and members.

Or perhaps just their friends and/or favorites, going back to the "rep party" things.

I agree with this to a point. If someone is truly deserving however, I think people from all ranks would notice.

Well, considering we are the ones who grant the cups, we can easily say the person is not worthy of the cup and therefore will not be granted.

So would SSRL not be nominating juniors at all, or would it just be posted on members forum?

SSRL would just continue to be SSRL. No reason to bother posting it in members

Eh….more private forums, more private ranks, more secrets? Can we just drop the whole idea.

SRL Members and SSRL are the ranks for people who are good scripters/contributers. We don't need more Secret Exclusive Crazy ranks for those who do it a LITTLE BIT better but DONT QUITE match reach the next SLIGHTLY BETTER rank.
