I do not mean to offend.
But, Cstrike, received the cup but has been around since 2007?
Is it also, if you come into members?
Note: I am not offending, and if it was a mistake, PLEASE don't take the cup away from him, he deserves it, but I always wondered :)
You mean the Promising Newcomer and the SRL Old Timer cup together are contradictory, yes ?

Ok I will make an example.
X registers at SRL in 2006.
X becomes inactive till 2009.
X then starts mooching around not posting much etc.
X then, in 2010, posts an amazing script.
Does X get Promising Newcomer?
But if so, then why is it Newcomer?

Yeah, and I mean a lot of people (like CX Gamer, cstrike) deserve … a cup… But I don't think Promising Newcomer, is the right one for it? Maybing a Promising Oldcomer :P

Yeah it's interesting how I got "Old Timer" and this.
To fill you guys in, I went through 3rd year bio, and they kick the SHIT out of you so hard. I had no time, I didn't even log on to Runescape or SRL. I basically had to depart for a year. I learned SRL while I was in 2nd year, and before I could submit a good script, presentations for my research came up and I wasn't able to fool-proof my scripts.
Then once the third year started, my social life ended.
Now that I've had a relaxed summer, despite getting mono– I was able to sit in bed while my mind still worked. I re-learned all the stuff I forgot in like a day, and then started reading tutorials to become fluent in arrays. Then the rune miner and a few other scripts were born.
In fact I think I was around in 2007. That was when first year started, so I learned over the summer how to do "ClickMouse", before I think SRL even had Mouse(x,y,rx,ry,bool);… of course I was such a noob then I wouldn't have known better. My year in 2007 basically was me making an air rune crafter south of falador with only mouse clicks. So embarrassing :)
Anyways I'm rambling my life story. To tl;dr this, my great gain in knowledge came after my degree kicking my ass. With tons of time on my hands I focused my energy 'solely' on SRL. Hopefully someone can be inspired to see that when you do set your mind to it– anything can be done.
EDIT: Technically I objectively do not deserve the SRL old timer, since I contributed very little for approx 2 years. I just sucked at SRL and couldn't get anything to work. I did stumble upon this community around the time I joined though.
I am very proud to have gotten the promising newcomer. Thank you very much to the person who awarded me with that :) I do have some people to look up to like Heavensguard […etc, I don't want to leave other people who are also new to members out who also inspired me by listing people].
The admins may do as they wish, I respect them very much. If they wish to remove something I completely understand and have no problem. As long as I can contribute that is all that matters!
DOUBLEEDIT: Technically my post/day is 1 post every ~6 days :| based on my join date
