Hello! :)

You may have seen some talk about a Simba extension to download MSI. This would obviously make it a lot easier for new users. Since they no longer need subversion to download SRL/Reflection, we may as well make it the same for MSI.

Wizzup even said if it's popular enough, it could possibly be included in the Simba installer. :) Anyone that wants to take a crack at it, be my guest! If you have absolutely no idea what to do, you can start by looking at the srl.sex and reflection.sex files.

Cheers,
The MSI Team
I thought, with the what-was-supposed-to-be-very-soon release of the script manager, you wouldn't need such a thing.

Why bash the script manager? It obviously isn't here, and this isn't the place to say so. Yes, when it gets here there will be diminished need for the extension, but the point is that we need the extension now, not to discuss that it isn't done.

I could easily do this if someone could get a .tar of the msi uploaded to server every commit

Well, as far as i knew, the script manager was supposed to come out very soon. So I don't see the point in wasting the effort on doing this when this will not be needed soon. I dont know which way would work better, but if you introduce it into the script manager as well as having an extension, then you may end up with some people using one and some using the other, when in reality you'd want everyone at one. So then you could try and migrate the people over, but I just see it as easier to just wait the small time until the script manager comes out. Unless that is, MSI doesnt plan on being on the script manager, in which case, by all means.

I say if the MSI.sex works properly, it would be easier to use it rather than script manager, because it downloads all the necessary files.

Wizzup?

Myles, I will do that. At the same place as srl and reflection. http://wizzup.org/static/srl

I still don't see how it relates to bashing the script manager though. You could have phrased your post in a much more kind manner.

because it downloads all the necessary files.
to my knowledge, the script manager was supposed to do just that.

I wasn't bashing it at all! I was in fact saying that this would take 2nd place to msi.sex. my saying "what-was-supposed-to-be-very-soon" just was expressing that I thought it was supposed to basically come out at the same time as Simba, but it hasn't as of yet. So if anything I would be bashing whoever it is that is making it and hasn't finished yet, but in fact, i didn't mean to bash them either. Gosh, everyone.

I associate *script manager* with downloading only scripts, not entire includes?

Well some scripts may very well be more than one file, so i would think that not allowing multiple files would be kinda silly. And what is an include but multiple files ehh?

Alright guys it doesn't really matter. It would be nice for us to have an msi.sex until the Script Manager is released. I know it was supposed to be soon, but Wizzup and the others are busy, and it may or may not come out soon. For the time being, an msi.sex file would be very helpful and easy for new users.

Myles, so you're up for it then? :)
