Ahhh SRL… for the first time i came here I didnt even know what that was. I didnt even know what the include was, nor did I even know that it would grow this close to me. To all who are part of the community of SRL, i say thank you. Thank you for giving me the tools i needed to learn how to script. Thank you for giving me nothing but respect and company. Thank you for teaching me and showing me your styles. Thank you, thank you SRL for just existing.
I didn't even know why I like scripting so much, its not exactly the first thing I would usually look at and find interesting, but it was. In fact it interested me so much that I spent countless hours of my life just learning as much of it as i could. From that first glance of the SCAR manual that explained some types, to reading the exciting whocares357 beginners guide, to making my own notes to accompany those who follow, as well as learning my self, to reading Coh3n's all-in-one tutorial, and then to learning from my very close [srl] friends on MSN and other various tuts.
I made it, truth be told I didn't think i would make it to member status, but it just goes to show that some things can happen if you just put your mind to it. Thank you SRL, thank you for proving that to me. I love you all.
[p.s]
theres months of more things for me to learn, possibly years. I wont let this community down :D

I'd also like to thank SRL. I first came here jsut to get scripts for RuneScape. I saw that this community was great from the start, but I had no programming knowledge and wanted to contribute. So at first I just started using scripts I didn't need and tried giving some feedback. Programming intimidated me at first, I thought it'd be too hard to learn, but after two months of being here, I decided I'd give it a go. After a year I was doing pretty well. I was making my own personal scripts, for RuneScape, and for personal use (such as opening up the internet and logging into my email, stupid little things for fun). If it wasn't for SRL I would've never started to learn how to program. Programming is somthing I love today, although I don't find much time to do it nowadays. But I'm am starting college this fall and am going to major in computer science. In school last year I was in 12th grade in America, the last year of high school and I found out we had a principles of computer science class, I think I got an A every marking period, I got all A's to A+'s on my tests, it was a basic class compared to everything I learned over a year from SRL, I could tell from the beginning it'd be too easy, so I talked to the only comp sci teacher who does principles and the AP (advanced placement) class. I told him what I knew, and that I didn't know C++ (for the principles class) or Java (for the AP class), but I understood the concepts, I asked if he thought I'd be able to do the AP class at the same time as the principles class since I didn't think I'd learn much from the principles class even though it's a pre-requisite for the AP, he talked to some people and I dropped my only study hall to take it. I wound up falling a little behind from my laziness, but still did good in the class. I wound up getting a 5 on my AP final and that's the highest you can get and I didn't even study. I thank SRL for that, without them there is no way I could've done as well as I did. I now will be getting some college credits for that, so thank you very much SRL :) I never thought some stupid game, along with the help of an amazing community could've made me pick a major and help me out with college. You guys are all amazing for the most part and I love SRL. It's great to see you guys doing so well still, it looks like you're doing better than ever, with the rebirth of reflection and Simba being publicly released. You guys are doing great, sorry I been a little busy, if I can manage to make some time I'd love to contribute again. Long live SRL!!! I love you guys.
EDIT: Lol possibly tl;dr. But I think the upper ranks would like to see what I've written. In summary, you guys are all amazing and helped me find my future career and taught me my the base of what I know plus much more to get me where I am. And I was even thinking bout making a thread to say all this and say how great it is to see SRL looking more alive than ever, but figured I could just throw it in this thread.
EDIT2: Just found out Heavenguard just received SRL Members status, congrats :) I honestly remember seeing you around the community so that's a good thing, you obviously have been active. Congrats on your new rank, now go out there and show everyone what you're capable of. Good luck for the rest of your stay here.

A lot of people here could say the same thing, but it's good to read it ;) SRL is the particular reason I've got through my college science classes, I'm going to be a doctor thanks to you guys :)
Also (how to tell I spent too much time scripting haha) I just had this dream that SRL was just like any normal group of friends, with the bitching and power plays and what not, specifically stuff like "I hate that girl, she keeps clogging up the include with her facebook pictures, she only gets to do that because she knows the admin, plus look at her she's gross" and "that script that this guy released was SO retarded, I mean look at his standards and blablabla". I was all too happy to wake up xD.
You guys. The way it is. Right now.
Fuck Yeah. <3
