SRL Archive - FAQ

So ive switched computers recently and ive been getting around to installing Simba but i have hit a snag. I'm still trying to install it and i keep getting this error that says im missing msvcr71.dll even though ive manually put it in my system 32 folder a couple of times.

I get a pop up message saying that the dll file is missing and that i should try reinstalling the program along with this message in the debug box

File[C:\Simba\Includes\SRL\Logs\SRL Log 01-08-10 0.txt] has not been freed in the script, freeing it now.

ive just been using the installer for simba and following this(http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47714) guide and when i try to enter that script

program new;
{$i srl/srl/misc/smart.scar}
{$i srl/srl.scar}
{$i reflection/reflection.simba}

begin
  SetupSRL;
  SetupReflectionEx(False);
end.

it all goes to hell. i think i dont have smart or something? or maybe because im using windows 7? i have no idea. any help would be very appreciated, thanks.

MSVCR = Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime, download it.

Download ^that and copy the file to the "C:\Windows\System32\" folder.

Did you place in the right folder?

It should be in: C:\Windows\System32

Whatever you do, do not download dll's from a site that is not its real author. (I do not recommend doing so).

I've also been having problems with that. The Echo fighter war working fine for me, but when I reinstalled my Simba it just wouldn't run. Then I tried to manually update my reflection and SRL from this 2 links

and I get the same error as you. I've no idea what is wrong. I've downloaded C++ runtime but nothing changed.

put it in the C:/Windows/System folder NOT System32

If you are on a 64-Bit system you should place the DLL in SysWOW64.

You could try running http://freddy1990.com/svn/scarprerelease/fixscar.exe (FixScar.exe).

putting the dll file in both the system and system32 folder worked, thanks for the help!!

I had the same problem and eventually just tried putting the dll into both my system and system32 folders and it works now.
