It's been about a month since I left compulsory education. And to be honest I hate it. Anyone who has also finished compulsory education will probably know where i'm coming from.
I want you to listen to this song.
Miley Cyrus - The Climb
I now associate this song with my old high school because that is the very last song i ever heard in the school (it was sung by a girl in my year and i wish someone had a copy of her singing it because it is just amazing when you hear her sing that song) that i spent 5 years with and made very close connections with. And i hate knowing that i might never step a foot in that school again, and i might never see the people and teachers that i have made such good friends and connections with.
My Head of Year was called Janet Osborne, she stuck up for me no matter what. I stole a teachers memory stick and claimed to put child pr0n on it and get the teacher in trouble, she stuck up for me and got me out of trouble. I hacked into the schools network and gave near enough the whole school internet access on their iPods and phones, and for a select few me and my friend even got unblocked access which meant we could go on anything, once again she stuck up for me and got me out of trouble. I created damage to school property, and i don't mean things like pencils, but i mean bushes and tables, and still she got me out of trouble.
There was another teacher, Mike Froud, he would get me out of trouble when i stole a teachers book and was too afraid to go up to her after about a year and return it, and he said that if i gave it to him he would return it and not say anything about me having it, and he did. When it came to making something or using the electronic equipment, he would always let me.
The point is, after all that the teachers and other staff has done for me, after all the work they have put in for me, i may never see them again. And i probably wont find anyone else like them again.
This completely upsets me. I have spent the last 5 years making such a great connection and friendship with them, then suddenly they are gone.
If you haven't finished your compulsory education then take this advice before you do, "take advantage of what you have, don't miss out on anything no matter how small it may be, and most importantly, have a good time and thank them for what they are doing" because quite frankly you may think "oh i cant wait to finish school, then i can finally get away from all these skanky old teachers", but the truth is, you will hate it if you don't spend your time wisely, and you will miss certain teachers.
Take things slowly, and make the most of your time while you are there.
Remember i only finished compulsary education one month ago, not one year, not two years, but one month!
Just listen to that song i posted at the top, and listen to the lyrics and just think about them, because you will make some very good friends with the teachers and you will miss them when you leave.
