DTMs?

My understanding of our DDTM system was that it would be used for items of the same shape, but different colours (pickaxes, hatchets, etc.), not for every item. For example:

ITEM_BIRD_NEST:
Result := [
Point(1155, 422),
Point(1154, 413),
Point(1141, 422),
Point(1157, 431),
Point(1169, 425)
];

FISH_CRAYFISH :
Result := [
Point(910, 538),
Point(907, 545),
Point(914, 516),
Point(928, 526),
Point(914, 528)
];

FISH_SARDINE :
Result := [
Point(48, 134),
Point(50, 127),
Point(58, 131),
Point(45, 140),
Point(40, 140)
];

FISH_HERRING :
Result := [
Point(98, 138),
Point(87, 143),
Point(108, 124),
Point(113, 134),
Point(89, 134)
];

FISH_TUNA :
Result := [
Point(357, 136),
Point(359, 124),
Point(372, 136),
Point(347, 146),
Point(344, 127)
];

FISH_LOBSTER :
Result := [
Point(414, 133),
Point(424, 144),
Point(463, 121),
Point(478, 134),
Point(472, 140)
];

FISH_SWORDFISH :
Result := [
Point(357, 136),
Point(359, 124),
Point(372, 136),
Point(347, 146),
Point(344, 127)
];
There's only one item in RS with that shape and colour, so why not just have a normal DTM declared in that items record? Would save a lot of space and would by much easier.

Thoughts?

That's fine by me.

Depending on how this thread goes, I'll make the necessary changes the the bird nest on Sunday when I get back.

The point of DDTMs is that one indeed.

I'd say just use whichever one is easier to add & update.

I thought it was all we were using. Where do we declare the normal DTMs?

Where you would normally call MSI_LoadDTM(whichItem).

So all of my unique items don't need the DDTM points or the colour?

I don't see the difference between doing a point system method with DDTM's and simply making DTM's. They should load at about the same speed should they not? And the whole DDTM system looks nicer IMO.

It just wastes space (lines) I guess.

Yeah, and it's easier to make a normal DTM then copy/paste all the points into the script. It doesn't matter to me really, I just thought I'd see what people said.

I think DDTMs are easier to keep & update to be honest.

It's just a few points, if jagex shifts it a pixel - no big deal, if they change the colours - no big deal, etc.

With a DTM, you'd have to remake the whole DTM.

Whatever works. ^^
