Ready Discuss! Which one has a better value? Just to run a phpbb forum and host some files. Or better host?

I pushed and still use GoDaddy a bit. I mean seriously.. Danica??!? … yeahhh…
Actually though, I have been disappointed with GoDaddy in the past. Mostly when it comes to using forms, and implementing your own thing. Also, personal hosting or using
http://silverstripe.org/ is preferred for mes.

I've heard some pretty negative things about GoDaddy hosting, i.e shutting your sites for no apparent reason. GoDaddy is very good for signing domain names though.
HostGator is pretty straight forward company, no tricks, no scams, and you can pay monthly.
I personally use bluehost because it's cheaper than hostgator (7$/month) and it allows unlimited domain hosting. However you have to buy a whole year of it.
Hope that Helps.

All of them suck, if you're doing anything "serious".

^ that is the most true - good idea to just host yourself if you can
Yes, GoDaddy is great for signing domains.. the hosting is not as much of good.
I use WhoIs without any complaints….

I am looking for hosting site(s). I want to be able to stream, load, download, setup emails (I can use gmail to generate and manage), logins, donations, blog like, and possibly forum. I am really like registering through godaddy, but I am tired of their hosting.
GoDaddy sucks for webhosting.
Use 3ix.com or Dreamhost.com.

Can't beat hostmonster..
Unlimited everything for $6.95 and i've never had a problem with them. I suggest namecheap for domain reg though.

Does any of those free hosts support CRON jobs?

They're overselling. It isn't unlimited everything. Also, I don't know about free hosts supporting cron jobs, but my current host (DreamHost) does.

all shared hosting is overselling. if you had a serious site doing over 1000 visitors a day then i'd say get a VPS..
