As some might know, I'm still somewhat into MW2, though I must admit I'm getting tired of it again – but that's beyond the point. I came to think of starting this thread because there appears to be a lot of useful things to know about that game that I hadn't figured out until recently – and there might still be tons of things I yet have left to discover. So together with the help of the entire community, I'm trying to see whether there are more tips, tricks ect. that I could find out about and list on this thread.
For instance, I had no idea that adding the Holographic Sight attatchment to FAL would add almost the same stopping power as the Stopping Power perk itself did. As my friend explained to me; every gun has a minimum and maximum damage variable, noticeable by the amount of bullets it takes to kill an enemy based on your distance from him. What Holographic Sight does, is that it vastly increases the FAL's minimum damage so that the distance between you and your target matters less. Enjoy two-shot kills across the entire map! :p
Also, adding the Shotgun attachment to FAL removes it's idle sway, which is the gun "moving" up, down, left and right when aiming down sight. (Idle sway is the annoying sway which, for instance, makes your sniper scope move around when you're not holding your breath.)
The USP .45 handgun, in addition to being a two-shot kill handgun, (close-range w/Stopping Power) when wielded akimbo, will additionally knife with equal speed as when using the tactical knife attachment.
A great way for boosting certain weapons and acquiring attachments for them, is to use them inthe Hardcore game modes. There, all weapon damage is multiplied and player's health is minimized, so high-power weapons like the FAL and the Desert Eagle are one-shot kills. Some of these weapons work even without Stopping Power, or are insta-kill even with the Silencer where they normally wouldn't be.
The is also the infamous "Cold Blooded"-glitch, which allows you, if done correctly, to get Cold Blooded Pro in one match. Make a class with an light machine gun with a large magazine, such as the M240 or RPD – preferably silenced to prevent interruptions. As a secondary, have the AT-HS missile launcher. (It might also work with the RPG, but having vehicle lock-on is so much more convenient.) Have either Sleight of Hand or Scavenger, (Sleight of Hand is reccomended) and of course Cold Blooded.
Now, when an enemy air support helicopter enters the map, (such as the Attack Helicopter or Pave Low) shoot it down with your AT-HS, hopefully making it spin slowly out of control rather than being instantly destroyed. (If you only got a hit marker, but the helicopter is badly damaged, just keep shooting at it with your LMG until it starts spinning.) When the heli finally is spinning, shoot it, making sure you hit it as much as possible. You will not get any hit markers, but it will be apparent by the thousands of points stacking up on your screen that you are completing challenges worth quite a lot of points combined. Basically, after a helicopter has started spinning, each shot you hit it with, will count as another destroyed enemy killstreak reward.
Thanks to J_Pizzle for reminding me of this and aslo for this youtube link:

UAV and counter UAV are VERY VERY under rated.. there is nothing better than pissing off the enemy, scaring him, and making him paranoid than not only knowing where he is, but him not being able to use his minimap AND disabling the auto-aim given by the hologrophic sight(if hes using it). i always use this set up with a harrier/ pavelow, and the uav+cuav actually help A LOT
