So I've heard about Grand Exchange Sniping bots (see http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=866272 if you don't know what I mean), and it seems like a good challenge to someone who could make it. Any ideas as to how he uses SCAR to make such a script?

I think it would probably be easy to do.

Just have to write in a mechanism for finding out when the GE updates.

The idea behind Grand Exchange sniping is to get the first offer in (GE is a first-come, first serve basis) so you can either: get items for cheap, get rare items (considering they updated as well), or sell anything that's mainly unsellable (or the opposite of buying an item being merched).

Basically it makes an offer when a rare goes on sale
In the grand exchange as soon as it is posted for sale. Wouldn't it have to keep the account that is doing the buying logged in while it searches for an item to snipe?

I think if you know the time(s) the GE is updated you can log in couple minutes before and wait and refresh the search until its changed. Then proceed to snipe the item.

Then how could one use such a script and not be infracted for idling for hours while logged in?

No, you would have it checking the GE website.

I don't think the website updates in real-time with the actual GE, though I'm not entirely sure.

I doubt, as the script i referrenced checked for update 3-4 times a second.

The Sythe one? Perhaps he wasn't aware that they aren't coordinated, or he was checking 3-4 times in game? Just saying it's worth checking out before someone goes and makes a script.

Idea: Have a noob account sit at the GE all day, and when it updates, somehow send a message to your actual account. Might not be fast enough though, since you still have to log in.

All you have to do is chill in swiftirc and when the bots go crazy about a ge update you log in and buy your shit.

You're an srl member, you should know how to make one yourself.

SRL Member doesn't mean you know everything.

Go back to sythe if you don't like competition. Maybe people at SRL will be able to make a better one for members only? Who knows. The point of SRL isn't to only have one working script while the others sit and go "Man, I wish that script wasn't made". It's meant to be a learning experience, you can make whatever you want..

I have one but I rather keep it myself or it will become useless :/

No, I was not trying to get someone to make it for free. I was simply looking for people's opinions as to some things I was unsure of. I saw an script that I liked, and needed some input.

I think we should collaborate and then post it on Sythe, just so people can't sell crap like this…

Right. Someone needs to get information… Some people should go ask how the bots detect a GE update, although I'm assuming the price spikes low sharply. That's basically the only thing, I guess; the #grandexchange channel has a lot of bots idling in it, I can't tell if those are the SMS bots (marked via country code) or whether they have a RS-IRC interface (one of those would be cool btw).

CC stealer goes into clan chats such as zezima or other merchant clans adds all the people onto the accounts friends list and then sends them a message which you choose "Join gg34893 cc new item" for example and then goes into other cc's and repeats

I think all u need to do is check ge site for price changes? unless its not real-time..
