Still waiting for a good picture?
Are any of the current ones usable?

Is MSI's intent to be a SRL community project that is supported by SRL itself? Or a separate entity that is just based within the SRL community?

If it is the latter then I am against this.

The first one ;)

100% for it.

Supported by SRL and which supports SRL in turn ;)

Having a quality community script will give all the SRL-users a lot, will provide some entertainment for the SRL-makers, provides learning code for the SRL-newcomers and provides a training ground for the future SRL-developers.

:-)

That is certainly the most animated cup available. It catches the eye.

Do you really need a cup, though? MSI was made like 4 years ago by Special Ed, and you guys have succeeded in making what, 2 or 3 scripts? If you were a focused team of scripters like the Simba-team and produced something only a group could produce I guess it would deserve one…

We have produced a core that will eventually be able to run multiple scripts for every skill.

We already support multiple woodcutting locations and I just recently added support for Mining, which currently only has a PowerMiner until the bugs are worked out.

MSI has been made so that once a skill is supported, a script can be added with only 20 lines of code or so.

You really should look into it.
SCRIPT_POWER_CHOP
SCRIPT_VE_TREES
SCRIPT_VE_OAKS
SCRIPT_GE_YEWS
SCRIPT_DB_WILLOWS
SCRIPT_RM_YEWS

SCRIPT_POWER_MINE
I count 7 scripts, compared to nil from the previous MSIs and 2 by POMS.

I wouldnt even count the powerminer since anyone can make it in 100 lines and the multi-choppers amount to a single multiminer/multichopper script, of which many people have made (myself and Nielsie, Wizzup and Fakawi, even Jukka by himself) without the years of bearocracy, power-plays and red tape…

The include files sounds just like a high level SRL/skills, which was decided by the SRL developers years ago to not be made because it would require too much updating, be too unstable, and decrease scripting talent due to it being super high-level. Why do you want people making scripts in 20 lines? And then have no idea how to fix it when its broken? That decreases scripting talent more than reflection, homogenises scripting style and has no benefits.

I wasn't gonna post this but 2 threads where you just slap each other on the back for little-to-no reason? You're like a bunch of politicians who have done a bad job but want to make themselves feel better so act like they've done really really really well (as long as the politician theyre standing next to acts like they've done really really really well)

Because this is not an include my friend, this is a script, therefore it has to be high level. And so that is where you have it all wrong.

Call me a bad politician all you want Claw, but from all the MSI Scripting Leaders all of them said they greatly learned from being part of it, two of them made it to Developers (and have stated MSI was a great part of it) and many more have made it to SSRL.

So.. now you have a little more talent around the forums. You have a huge working script around the forums. You have one more project to which you can dedicate your time to, if you wish to do something for the community.

Man, what sucky politics.

Not to start any sort of argument, but as you did slightly offend me, when was the last time you did something for this community? Maybe, just maybe, instead of badmouthing, try to suggest a direction which you see to be better fitting.

Just to add to RM's point's, how have we done a bad job? It work's, it's brought many members of the community together to work on a common goal, and we have been more successful than any other attempt at MSI or anything similar.

The great thing about the core we've produced is that with little editing, new locations/skills can be added. Which, apparently in your eyes, is a bad thing. So should people stop releasing scripts because it makes thing's too easy on other members? Because that's all this is, an all inclusive script.

I really don't see a downside to MSI at all. It certainly has no more negative effects on the community than a staff member putting down a community project because they congratulated each other on reaching a goal…

I find it somewhat disappointing honestly that you would say such thing's.

I'm not trying to degrade what you've all done or your effort/time and so on, and I didn't mean that MSI has been a negative influence, of course activity is good.
Just…dont worry about it. Ignore me
