How to walk between dock/fish guild bank properly

Summer is now here, time to re-learn what I have forgotten :(
Weird question here, I know– but once I understand this, it may open many new doors for me.

My goal is to be able to have a script to go back and forth between the two X's (or basically, the bank and the dock)

Walking is my weak point, I need to improve it to make my script better, but if I'm going to release a fish guild script, it needs to be done just right.
My questions are:

1. What code should I use to ensure that the script will be walking back and forth properly. I know about using bank symbols and fishing symbols, but how do I ensure that the script won't wander off and get a user banned? Likewise: How can I make failsafes for walking, and finding the right location?

2. Do I use a method determining spot (like search x1,y1,x2,y2 for color Z) for searching for the bank? Or will the bank/dock be always different colors [in smart for example]

3. Should BMP's be used?

Lastly this isn't my first script or anything, I have a foundation of the basics, but that's all (and 2 years of coding in 2 languages behind me! woo I'm not useless yet!)

Thanks in advance

or if you want, use reflection

IMO, You cant have too many failsafes when it comes to walking. Your number 2 sounds good, but the best answer from what i see would be to make a DDTM. I can assure you it will be frustrating if its your first time, but it will definitely be the best and most reliable way to get between your two points.

Hint: If the fishing spot and the bank spot can be seen at the same time, dont be afraid to just put an estimated click as a final failsafe :X

I would say that basic DTM's should do just fine, with some symbol checking backup.

1.
  • As stated already probably DDTM would be most accurate (color wise)
  • I see a way to use TPA walking but this is slightly more advanced
  • Last resort use Reflection walking (stupid easy)

2. I'd suggest focusing on use the full minimap:
MMX1, MMY1, MMX2, MMY2
MMBox (TBox)

3. Don't use bitmaps, only time these are useful for minimap walking is if you know how to use "FindDeformedBitmapsIn" function, which can be tedious.

For walking details I'd read this tut:

Just sayin', the fishing guild doesn't look like that as of March 23, 2010.
