How to Bot.

So, many ask the question "How do you bot without getting caught?" (Yes that rhymes)

Here I am, I ask this question to You, the SRL community. Input your opinions on some rules you follow to not getting caught.

Also, it may be helpful to post some well-made scripts that reduce the risk of getting caught.

I will try to update a list of rules made by us, the community.

Lets start:

1) Don't bot for more than 6-8 hours a day tops.

2) Take short 5-10 min breaks every hour - hour and a half.

3) Try to supervise your bot a little bit instead of leaving it on while away.

4) Bot in either empty spaces or overly crowded spaces to reduce suspicion.

5) Don't wear items that will attract attention. (Skill capes, party hats, ect.)

Don't get reported. From my personal experience I only got banned when I was reported.

^ Because that's really the only way to get banned..

Seriously.

I'm sick of this stuff. It's not about only autoing two hours a day and taking a break every five minutes or anything, it's just about not being stupid. I auto around 18 hours a day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I've never been banned. Not once. And I never take breaks. The only thing is that I check the script when I can. I don't constantly watch, but every once in awhile I'll check, maybe say something to a friend, or ask someone near me their level, and I'm fine for a few hours.

Gah.

This is kind of given… what steps would you take to not get reported perhaps?

Well you should think what can happen when you bot. The best thing is to bot somewhere where no one ever comes and there are 0 chances of getting reported. Or quite the opposite. If there are a lot of people in one place there aren't many chances that someone will notice YOU.

Other that that, you shouldn't attract attention. Let's say that you've got a skillcape on. There are quite some chances that someone will ask you something related to that.

And I also support the idea of making an pwnage auto responder that would be in the SRL folder like all the skills and other staff. It should be made so that it would try to end the conversation and to continue it. ;)

Not good. It won't happen, I don't think so.
It makes SRL based scripts(that uses the responder) more track-able as Jagex can just look in the responder's library.
I don't want to give them this type of advantage.

What if the database is in web server?

EDIT: Heres something I have been working on: http://www.frement.net/srl/autoresponder/test.php?message=attack%20level?

You can make your script auto logg you out when someone says your name. So if I was fishing and someone said my name or something I can either go finish what I am doing then logg out or just automatically logg out.

Connecting to web in SRL is another taboo afaik.

But there's no problem with self-written responders, imo. SRL is too big to have something like that. The problem is that if a lots of person uses the same it may become a target to detect.
Personally I have never used auto-responders :p. No ban.

I don't that it would be more track-able to Yagex if the responder was really big, with lots of different words and sentences. And I can't see how the answers would be different from human answers.

I also forgot quick chat worlds in my previous post. :)
