It never loses focus with SMART, the loss of focus has lots of factors like antivirus, adkiller, live desktop, operating system, background applications, internet browser ect. all errors can be avoided by restarting SCAR directly before leaving it unattended to run a long time.
Doesn't this imply a program is buggy? Restarting to avoid errors…

Virtual machines can cause random short lag that can kill an entire script whether through loss of focus, game lagging out, or script being off timed.
My VM has a dedicated cpu core, so I don't think lags occur. It doesn't do anything else but run runescape / simba either.

I'd like to say that the topic of this thread is fine, my intention was to emphasize SCAR still works great for those who can use it, others simply can get it to work for whatever reason and they can alternatively use simba or people can do whatever they want I honestly don't care, I just think it's completely inaccurate to make statements like SCAR being buggy has anything to do with the lack of activity
You think so? I think it is certainly de-motivational if a program crashes when you haven't saved your changes to a script you're writing, and I've seen several people literally break from scripting just because of that. (SRL Developers too)

, it still works great for me an many others. There's a lot of behind the scenes work being done to ensure the future of SCAR and it's predecessors,
statements suggesting otherwise are not true.
How would a noob like me see this? Like I said, you keep saying this, but I haven't seen any changes. But then again, have you actually seen changes in the code? I don't think anyone has apart from freddy.

If anything the past 3-4 months I believe SCAR has not seen more development since 3.00-.15b possibly more. 3.25 could turn out to be a complete waste, who knows, SCAR luna is a fresh slate and will not disappoint.
WIll not disappoint? You're trust is a bit unrealistic I think, only time will tell…

Simba's and SRL 5's goals are aiming too high, as I've been anticipating a public release for too long, I was hoping this summer to see it in full throttle since this time of year I have the most free time in 2 years, and with college and career coming up in August and beyond it may be the most freetime I have for a very long time…
Well, Simba will be ready pretty soon, and I can see SRL 5 coming up pretty soon as well - certainly halfway this summer or so. It's just that a lot of us have exams, RL/Study projects, or other issues. There isn't a lack of motivation. Not for me, anyway. I recently got my essence miner to work with Simba; and it worked quite well considering I just quickly hacked some stuff in. The script is over two years old now at least… :p

especially as many of you and myself are reaching the end of interest in runescape and SRL in general, it would be comforting to rebuild it one more time successfully enough so that we can hand down our legacy to the next generation, such as people's Timer's age are truly in the long run the future of SRL.
If guys like Timer would be the future of SRL, I don't think the future is very bright. He hasn't left a good impression on me, anyway. Perhaps he was misguided by some people…
Also, I don't see age as a reason to leave, especially if people are doing something in the Computer Science branch. And quite a lot of us are, and I like to think I and a few others have influenced the decisions in that area of many :)
There's plenty of room in SRL for good coders, and as stated before, SRL is not just about Runescape. If it honestly was just about Runescape, I think it would have died off a year ago. As you probably knew, there will be more space for other languages and projects on SRL as well pretty soon. People just need to take initiative.
Plus, don't you think having closed registrations has a major relation to activity drops? ;)
