DDTMS are a pain in the mouth. When they work they become invaluable, but to get them to work… I feel your pain.

Here are some things that I learned when I was learning DDTM's
Color: DDTMs really rely on color to find the correct points. Make sure these are Extremely Accurate, I have not tried the new Autocolors, but Fresh colors is a very high success rate.

Area Size: Usually Increasing this helps the success rate, but having a 4 or higher size caused my script to slow down significantly, which could mess up your time marks.

Along with that, try using different colors in your DDTM, such as a Red Gate/Door color on your minimap, or a White Fence/Wall on the minimap. While this could even make your DDTM more complicated then it is, just give it a couple of trys.

Practice makes perfect, you'll have it working soon enough bro :D
