Hello there,

As you might have noticed, the forums are being restructured. Our goal is to make the forums less bloated and still have everything we used to have in a way it is easy to find for everyone. Some forums are renamed and a lot of them are moved.

If you have other suggestions for the restructure, please let us know :)

Good thing that Tutorial Island went up.

I recently noticed that the scripts no longer are placed under categories/skill subforums. Maybe I've just missed out on something or misunderstanding something, but in my view, the removal of the categories was .. rather inconvenient. Why was it done?

I've read the sticky, but my eyes see very few scripts with skill icon prefixes.

EDIT: I'm also still waiting for iSpy to be incorporated in the main navbar.. Unless you changed your mind about that, Wizzup?

The main reason was that there were a lot of sections that only had a few threads in them and this way it's also easier to see which scripts are the most active/updated. You can still search for specific skills by clicking on the icon or by searching on prefix.

This is exactly what I wanted to happen, well done.

Sorry, I meant the prefixes. Though now, i look the dump is apparently for buying and selling things. Though I don't see why the same thing couldn't be applied to allow for all of the forums to be put together.

noooo, I'm a chicken again >:[ before ranks went away I think I was black demon or something like that. Guess we're starting ranks over. Glad to see Activity/Longevity, the "Today" I don't mind, I like it more then I dislike it though, just so you can quickly tell if people were on at all during the day.

Haven't got to browse the forums much yet to see all the changes. Hopefully I can still find everything :p

I don't like "Today" again, it's not worth it.

Sure its worth it. It allows you to know you've fulfilled your daily duty on SRL. XD

AFAIK they're based on longevity and activity combined in some simple formula. Correct me if I'm wrong, peeps.

There are days when I post only one or not even that one. But sometimes I post more then 10 a day.

It's based on how often you visit, how much you post and how long you've been here. The ?/5 is how much you can gain per day. You get 1 for visiting and the other 4 are for posting. If you keep it up for a certain amount of time, you'll gain a rank.

I don't want to explain it down to the very bottom, that'll keep it a bit more exciting :p

More posts on the forums, I would love it. And the people still try to have some content in their posts, right? So maybe its not a bad thing.

There should be some form of "how many scripts released" activity meter or something :)

Ohh, I would have never thought about that, but as I read it sounds a great idea.
Sure there would be some "not too good script", but there would be good ones too. Although machines like RM would pwn everyone :p.

Or a personal rating system that would only involve scripts released.

Because the monster ranks are due in part to activity, if you don't have high activity you won't have the old rank you used to have. To everyone saying theyve lost their ranks, that just shows how much you're activity has decreased lately ;) Back in the day, most people were at 100% or close to it.

After all, very few people did indeed spam to raise/maintain their activity – and those who did were swiftly dealt with. After all, I have no doubt that this has been thoroughly discussed in the admin forums; I'm sorry for my previous criticism.

This is true, I definitely don't spam when trying to get my postcount up, so maybe it will help activity. But isn't it kind of unnecessary to have how many times I've posted in a day visible?

I agree but, it's background should then be fixed. Its kind of hard to see, but the background has a chunk that's not the right color.

:) I missed ranks (Chicken, etc.) and activity/longevity/today/posts area. ^^ But yeah, the banner should stay constant. Or be customizable to the user.

I don't see how having an activity bar makes you want to spam…should we change it to an INactivity bar, and make it go down, would that make you want to be inactive?

I like, reminds me of the old days, and it lets you see who is posting a lot and who is casually posting.

Is there any way to put location into the same style as the activity bars and such? If so you could completely get rid of that box and just stick location under the bars. I forget if that's how it used to be or not.

I don't think it's a good idea to mess with the templates more than necessary. This way it's easier to update them (and the forums).

I enjoy having the ranks up, it allows for a quick view of stats. In my opinion it makes the forum look more active as a whole. Gives the site a little bit of a liveliness aspect.

Do note that the mod only started logging when it got enabled, so that's why a lot of you probably have a low activity (or you're just inactive).

NOTA would have been most of my posts, so that is less confusing.

My only other explanation would have been that "today" resets on a general clock, not on my clock. So that might be it..

Yes, it uses GMT, so I think it's working correctly :)

I just noticed the line it made at the far right. Then upon closer inspection, i saw that the whole background wasn't wrong, it was all just different colors not uniform.

I love these ranks, just like in the days when I registered!
