Summer is starting, people are beginning to get bored playing runescape all day long… also Jagex's legal bullshit seems to have to died down.

"Legal shit" takes a long time… Blizzard vs MDY (WoW vs Glider) case is still going after 4 years or so. I doubt its gone, and I haven't seen any official announcements about it. I'm guessing Jagex just threatened RSBot and they just shut down.

But ya… that's a crazy amount of guests.

I suggest we wait until we release simba + srl 5

I think we need to get a release for Simba, then we can reopen.

I say, SRL 5 is to far off to wait until it's ready for re-opening. Get simba to an acceptable noob friendly state and release that with SRL 4 so we can re-open hopefully before the end of June.

The sooner we do that, the more people will join imo. Now is the time all the random potential new registrants are googling and looking around the internet.

Make sure to have the script manager, as it takes away the hardest part of starting.. (Getting scripts).

The re-structure has no need to take longer than 24h, if we wish it to be so.
Simba is stable.
SRL is fairly stable

From memory I think the plan was mainly to "Clean up" the forums.


I agree that now would be a great time to re-open, however, I also agree that having Simba and SRL 5 together would something great to re open with.

Simba alone is enough though I think, as long as we maintain srl 4 and dont let it get "clumsy" like it has in the past we should be fine.

Please at least make a link to the How to install SRL/SCAR/Simba tutorial forum near the top of the forums (under SRL rules and FAQ's perhaps). And move Tutorial Island to just under SRL Public Forum if possible.

I'd say moving coh3n's setup tutorials into the official ones would be a good stop.

A good clean up of outdated tutorials would be good too. Also what happened to the single svn idea? SRL Pub svn is barely used now and its latest "stable" revision is probably not even working.

In my opinion the forums are split into to many sub-categories that clutter it and make it look less active than it actually is. Perhaps merging a bunch of the forums (such as the off-topic section) and possibly getting rid of some would help.

I'm not really decided on the re-open yet. Maybe it should happen before SIMBA's release so we can hype it a bit? Not sure.

I agree that reopening shouldn't wait until after the summer.

I've noticed a significant increase in the number of working scripts that are being put out. There aren't enough members available to use the scripts, though.

I don't know what the status of the script manager and such is, but now seems like prime time to get registrations going, assuming legality isn't a concern.

There's still a lot of things to do that would make SRL just that much more appealing.
