The use of Armies

We used to have armies. I used to have 3 armies with 8 slaves to each, and I'd have them in different cities, autoing different scripts.

Jagex then killed the point of having an army. And so we fell right onto their trap - autoing on our mains. Each time our main died it would be a big hit to all our hours of autoing, as they all gone down on that one single character.

Some of us have been through that - I've been there three times. And each time it would kill my motivation a bit because I'd have to restart all my hard work.

And so.. that's how an idea pops up. It comes from within the pain of having to rebuild.

Armies should come back to use. Not how they used to be, large armies. But a much smaller army. Think of it as an army of mains.

Here is what I'm planning:
Build 3 characters up. All at the same time - However, they'll be in different cities, autoing different skills.

This will be much harder to track. I used to let my main run for 25-35 minutes before taking a rest. With an army, I'll just simply let each slave run for 15 - 20 minutes;

Also, to make it harder for legits to find a pattern, as reporting is the key to banning, my slaves will be in different locations.

The effect:
[INDENT]Legit sees autoer login.
Legit gets suspicious after 10 minutes.
Legit starts talking to slave
Slave responds with auto-responder.

If SlaveTime > 10 and SlaveTalk / SlaveTime > 0.3 then NextSlave;

New slave logs in
New legit sees slave
New legit has no clue that a slave had just been suspected in AK
New legit becomes suspicious of slave after 15 minutes.
New slave logs out after 17 minutes.[/INDENT]

If a legit is talking a lot to you it is likely he is suspicious. Logging out will avoid most reports.

How will I have my slaves in different places doing different skills?

Multiple Script Integration

And so, with a small army (3 slaves) the next time jagex takes down one of my chars, I'll have two to fall back on, and start raising another slave. Because my slaves will die - But not before giving jagex a lot of trouble.

This definitely works, I've had the army of mains mentality for years with no bans, except with 7 players (as I never played more than 4 hours a day as legit), and with just normal swicthing. Another thing that can be done with all scripts (especially with competitive resource areas such as crafting guild), is switch worlds when switching players (gets around the wait 30 seconds thing).

Do not forget by the way… Don't have other bots of yours on your friend list, even to give gold.

Got 4 of my characters banned because of that.

I suppose I got reported, then I suspect Jagex to have flagged the friend list, and my other bots were banned within 2-3 weeks.

Loving the world switching at character switching. Now that I think of it, it means legits will only ever see you once, for 15 minutes.

World Management System…
If talked to in world x at location y then FlagWorld(x, y);

I've always wondered if Jagex doesn't just check how many accounts you login in a day and just cut-down their macro detection shit from there since not many legit players will login (same ip I mean) on like 6 accounts on the same day repeatedly.

Yeah - I have since started an autoed account as if it was a main - only autoing on it yet I do monitor it fairly closely - I plan to get members, because I have heard once Jagex has your 6$ a month & you don't completely abuse macros(12hours + daily).

Because then it would be impossible for people to play at libraries and other public access places.

To be honest, this is how I've always autoed, with 3-6 players that I treat as my "mains" doing specific tasks. I've given them all away to friends now though to use as actual mains :p Might be fun to make some new ones.

I have 5 90+ accounts that I use as my "main" army…

I agree with this. I never made the total switch to main. I prefer to have the small armies anyway.

[offtopic]
Just throwing out an idea, not sure how many people implement it:
-with my players, I am trying to make each one a variable (lets say 1,2,3,4,5)(ok, not hard). And when I have the script choose a player to login, if the last player was 3, it will random between the other ones (1,2,4,5). In this way each player has a release of the previous player(s) and an include of their own. [/offtopic]

Good topic RM, let us all give em a hard time.

E: also, I like to either stop or create a large enough (randomish) timeout that it looks to be following the Jagex posted "health" tips and threads.

I've been autoing on two mains for years, one is worth 1B+, the other 200m or so, both from sudoku, both have 94 mage autoed, and have autoed combat stats and theiving on both, and both havent been banned in over a year and a half. Its seeming pretty easy to not get banned

I make armies just for script testing / creating and to eventually sell to sites like gold4rs (made like $30 from them in the past little while). I rarely auto on any of my 2 mains.

Pretty easy eh? Weren't you the one who was clicking the magic tab that didn't exist trying to teleport for 4+ hours? Sounds like luck to me bro ;)

Autoer armies can still be of use though. It's not your main's fault that an army of macroers just bought out the supply of Lobsters on the GE for max price, right after he- the main- bought 140K of them for himself. In addition, it's simply a coincidence that the main sold off every Lobster for max price just hours before all of the macroers dumped their stock.

Price manipulation is very possible with a large enough army, because you essentially evade every given block Jagex can place on the amount of items you can buy.

Another scenario: Your main has 100k Waters he needs to sell, create an artificial demand, wait a GE update (around 12-24 hours), and sell for around 400-500K more.

The Grand Exchange is a wonderful tool that can be abused given the right conditions.

In theory, anyway. ;)

Wait have you done this? I always skilled my armies, never really made much cash though. If they all had enough money you could rape the G.E.

I have yet to try this personally, but it's basically an F2P merchanting clan with only one mind (one controller) behind it. Merching clans in P2P have already shown that- with around 500M-1B total- buying out a market for days is easily possible.

The great thing about this model is that it encourages the use of- say- 20 or 30 bots, as opposed to one or two. So, if you lose a bot, it's FAR less impact on the method.

Now we just need a GE Manipulation Script so no one has to physically log in to so many accounts all the time. :P

I've only ever had two players banned. Its really not hard to avoid it..

People just take too many risks.

I do believe this is a good idea though.

Hell no. You don't need them all to do it at exactly the same time!

Just watch out if you plan to do this; Jagex keeps watch over the GE, and will probably be able to link your accounts if you make them all start buying out something at the same time.

For the most 'stealth', I believe you should make "groups" of 5-6 accounts, and alternate the initiation of the manipulation between each group.

Example, I have 20 accounts, named:
a, b, c, d, etc……

I have five groups:
1. [abcd]
2. [efgh]
3. [ijkl]
4. [mnop]
5. [qrst]

I have group 1 buy out the initial supply of Lobsters for max, then after the GE Update and prices go up, the rest flood in and buy as many as possible for max. For the next round of manipulation, I start with a different group. This shows up as 5 different F2P Merch clans that are highly reactive to price spikes/profits.

This can be made far more complex, such that it would seem completely normal to Jagex, but that's the gist of it…

I feel like you're giving Jagex way too much credit.

But also, buying out lobsters on each account isn't breaking the rules in any way as far as I can tell. They've stated they don't like price manipulation, but it isn't technically breaking any rules, you're just buying items in the way that they have allowed you to with the Grand Exchange.

I'd rather give them too much credit than get my main banned.

Plus, if you can buy out the items with a single group of accounts, it's less impact on your other groups (read: the other groups have less items to lose them money).

Yes, GE Price Manipulation is within the rules. However, Jagex would find it extremely easy to link merchanting clans, and- if one of the clans are banned for botting- flag each member. If Jagex sees your main at the head of all of this, they can potentially ban him.

It's another layer of protection; if you want to take the simplest way, feel free. No one's stopping you. :)
