Who has turned their Xbox into an XBMC.
How kickass is it?

original xbox-
I have it on there, it's WAY sweet, I've got all the nes and snes emulators on it.

I want to know about movies and streaming and whatever.
I have emus and all those goodies on my wii/ds.
You use it to stream/store movies and watch on TV?

I have in the past, in fact my whole senior year in high school we just had the xbox on our network and samba'ed from it to shared movie folders on our computers. Worked like a dream. I think we went through most of DBZ, and tons of movies.

I wouldn't know how to do it anymore. but it was awesome when he needed it like that.

When my xboxes worked they had xbmc on them it is pretty nice =)

XBMC is the shit.

I can stream any money directly from some internet shit into my TV and watch it, sometimes before it's even released. All kinds of other shit aswell… infact since my xbox was already soft modded from Halo2 (which was easy to get that) then I found a quick guide to put XBMC on it aswell (which was also easy as shit)

100% worth it, especially now that live for original xbox is completely 100% gone.

Nah I doubt it will work with anything but an actual original xbox, all you need is a soft mod (action replay + splinter cell)

XBMC is for linux, windows, and xboxs…. i had it on my pc awhile back =)

Dgby, how did you like it on your comp, what did you do with it?

I used it in ubuntu just to see if it worked then moved it to the pc in the livingroom (windows) and had it playing videos on the tv in there =) its about the same as a xbox but you have a mouse now (then again you can have a mouse on a xbox too…. but that requires a little work)

It was very easy to get working in ubuntu but took a little work for it to get on the tv in windows =/

Alright then, I guess I'm going to get an old comp, put XBMC as the only OS on it, and stream movies from my upstairs external HD to the downstairs XBMC comptuer. Good? :]

XBMC is a os? I used it as a program inside of Ubuntu and Windows….

Why would you want to put XBMC on a computer lol? The entire point was to recycle your xbox as a usable media center.

When i softmodded my first xbox i make a little xbox controler cord too usb thing so i didnt need a actonreplay i used a usb drive =)

I dont think they make action replayed for the original xbox anymore….

Yea just cut the cables and match up the wires.

But I think you still need like Jamesbond/splinter cell/ mech assualt?

Ofc they don't make, but you can probably snag a used. Amazon also sells.

Nah like… it's a wireless adapter that runs an Ethernet cord out the back of it, so it can plug into anything that is Ethernet, your xbox thinks it's plugged into a modem.

Simple solution. Theme your xp startup screen and put a XBMC shortcut into your startup folder. After that, set the computer up to download torrents late at night, and install the BitTorrent WebUI firefox extension on all of your computers.

Win in all directions.
