Is it possible SRL can somehow get a SRL chat just like Facebook, instead of going to a completely different website and such, and we do already have SRL friends , this would would change SRL completely and make it maybe even more active.

i actually find that a great idea, like it shows shows online like the facebook chat, and if you need to tlk to a specific person then you would click on them then start talking, good idea.

IRC is more of a community thing: everyone chats in the same room (yes i know, if you want you can wisper stuff, but that is not the main purpose). in FB the main purpose is one on one conversations. by having these 1 on 1 conversations, it illuminates the mindless trolling that goes on in IRC. and how many times have you heard someone post something positive about IRC on these forums? very few times. Most of the time, i read stuff like "ppl on IRC are jerks".

also having a chat here is more convenient. you don't have to go to a different website or load up a different program.

have a question for another person? well just click on their name and send the message. no more waiting for them to refresh their page in order to see that they got a PM. besides, PMing is like Email. Y Email when you can IM?

No, facebook chat is absolutely horrible. Just man up and go to the irc

with the irc it never lets me regester and even when i regester it never lets me log back it

So let me get this straight.

Instead of a few (The people who've posted here who aren't on IRC) people learning to use IRC, or making the effort to go on, you want someone to spend significant amounts of time coding a "facebook chat" system into the forums.

Well I can see THIS is going to happen, far simpler than just going on mibbit or the likes!

Also, of the people who do have the very specific skill set to create such a system to work with vb, which amount to none that I'm aware of (on here at least), I would bet that none of them would be willing to invest the time required.
