Banning of Scammers

I can't help but to bring this to attention…

(not sure if I have order right.)

First, we have Sandstorm.
Formerly: Hey321
Denied SRL Members.
Crime: (not sure)
Thread: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42043

Then, we have Iroki.
Formerly: manfromczech
Accepted SRL Members.
Crime: Stealing accounts.
Thread: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36660

Then, there is Frement.
Formerly: mageofbegu
Almost accepted SRL Members.
Crime: not sure
Thread: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56190

This rule should be changed, unless I'm missing the meaning of it. Since we are currently closed to registration, this is a good time, no?
From: Rules
Keylogging / Password Cracking: Any topic related to keylogging / password cracking, helping others creating / using / discussing / distributing password cracks or keyloggers is strictly prohibited.

Password Cracking = Password Stealing?

I have NOTHING against these guys. I am simply just wondering why Sandstorm was rejected, and the others weren't.

It could well be their attitudes because I don't know them. But this seems like a flaw in our banning system, and it should be 'all or none'.

I also don't know the nature of the crime, which could be a deciding factor.

If anyone can clarify, it would really help me.

Thanks!

Sandstorm was Hay321 or something like that before. Also, I'm quite sure they all had basically the same offense.

I'm quite sure Iroki was re-awarded members after his work on SRL Randoms.

I couldn't answer the rest for you though as I am unsure.

Idk bout this but I'd guess Hey321 fucked up back then, and then again on Sandstorm, and gets no 3rd chance

Hey321 cheated on SRL Stats and lied a lot. Is that right? I remember the situation, but I may be mixing a couple ideas together. People made a bigger deal out of the mageofbegu ordeal, though I don't remember what happened specifically besides the account stealing.

I don't really know the harm in giving them SRL membership, if they deserve it more than most. Iroki being a good example.

Wait, what did Hey321 do as Sandstorm? I don't remember him doing anything wrong after coming back (save for, y'know, pretending to not be Hey321).

'All or none' never leads to anything good.
It's common sense/judgement/moral that needs no explanations that is the way to go.

Ya, that is a good point.

And I figured it was how these people acted that allowed them to regain status. I just find it hard to let some in while others not, when the scamming of members is listed under 'permanent ban's, and then there's a rule later that states 'any new accounts made will be banned right away'.

Changing the rules then would make more sense?

Changing the rule might provoke someone to scamming and asking for another try I think

And letting people back after perms makes it any better?

It was only SRL Stats IIRC.
Anyway, regarding these users, this has already been discussed in the moderators section and will be announced when we make some changes to the forum again. (No, I will not shine more light on it now, and neither will other staff :) )

Also, Frement is NOT a SRL Member. Just because his poll has more yes'es doesn't mean he's accepted in any way. Sandstorm also had more Yes than No.

Thanks for clearing it up. Was hoping for that answer ;)

I didn't talk about letting people in or not, I was just talking about the rule.
And I think that every scammer should be treated as an individual, and take time and mental growing into account. People do change, although not everyone.
