I would like to make a dynamic progress report that is painted onto the smart canvas and by dynamic i mean literally update every second in order to keep the Runtime of the script up to date. Anyone know how this is possible without looping through the progress report function forever so that i can run other parts of the script?

There were some multi-threading discussion in the forums, let me search them :)
(I take it that you already know how to draw onto the canvas?)

my link:D. that cavas drawing function works amazing if called with settimeout, the drawack is it takes from 2/3 of a second to 3 seconds and sometimes up to 7 seconds(rarely) to complete. which means ur script stops when u call it, so i tend to keep it updating every 30 seconds. also the timing wasnt accurate when i called it ever second. it waited like 7 seconds(dont remember perfectly) and then updated instead of every second. set timeout blows for multithreading replacement IMHO

Cool idea and all, except lots of scripts screw up every time you minimize/unminimize due to the smart screen flashing white for a second. :(
