From: trecool999
I'm 16, been programming and web developing for 5 years. I've written a couple of bootloaders for my PC in assembly, but nothing too serious. Never had any tutoring for any languages, but my GCSE IT teacher gave me a C pocket reference because he's cool like that. I don't have a website, because it recently expired. I've been drumming for 8 years and I play in a band called In Mono (http://www.myspace.com/inmonoofficial). General interests include: music & percussion, general & mobile computing, physics (especially studies of Quantum Electrodynamics), and electronics. In future times, I plan to complete my Business Studies, Electronics, Physics and Maths A-levels, study Computer Engineering at Cambridge University and aim to become a commercial pilot, preferably for British Airways or EasyJet.

Please show us one (or multiple) of your scripts.
Unfinished and still includes a couple of debugging outputs, but you get the gist of it:

Can you provide proof that you are him?
Or is this a BAD rip?

The use of arrays is quite astounding, and you seem to have a handle of that.

Your debug displays are quite good, and are very, very thorough.

I don't like how many consts and vars you have. That really doesn't matter, though.

I cannot find the ACTUAL mining function where you click the ore. Maybe I am missing it, but I don't see where you detect that you are mining, and where you detect you are done mining. I find that one of the hardest parts in a miner.

Just a question, why was your first (and only) post in February 20th, 2008, then your next post was in April 4th, 2010? I'm just curious why a 2 year gap, and then you release a script right away.

trecool999

2010-04-09 11:44:45

The actual click-mine method hasn't yet been implemented (like I said in the application, it's unfinished). I'm currently working on perfecting the colour and uptext recognition. At the moment it just uses a one-second wait timer as a sort of dummy until I've got colour recognition and recording completely finished. I haven't done a lot in the past three days due to being away.

I got into scripting a while ago, but I got bored of it very quickly. I just recently got back into RS after getting banned from COD for hacking (:D).

Fair enough.
I vote yes, i'll post more about why later.

Alright, I understand. It seems you are doing a good job perfecting it. I will wait it out and see if you can get a complete script spit out soon, but I'm leaning towards yes.

You're good at assembly? You should help me mod a few DLL's. :p

trecool999

2010-04-09 14:00:35

I'm afraid my Assembly knowledge doesn't go into anything OS-Specific, sorry :P
Besides, why aren't you writing it in C? Unless you just want to optimise it, in which case I can help.

Anyone else think that its wierd he says he doesn't have a site one day, then the next he has one? which has been registered since 08? And, he says he is a web developer for 5 years, the website provided doesn't even work with the exception of some basic css.

Sorry, i just think we need more proof.

This.

Not saying that I don't think he's telling the truth, just saying it's possible that he is lying.

Yeah, thats not evidence. It isnt hard to find a website and change the name of it mate, no offense. a Bit of HTML and the name is changed..

Seeing as reflection is supposedly fixed, this probably sounds completely out of place and newbie-ish (I've been scripting for a total of… half a day?), but how can I implement reflection in a SCAR/SRL script?

http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55922

AS well that script with 6 and a half days scripting? Not even that. I know it would be possible, but being 16 years old, where would he get the time with school and his band?

It's just something else that makes me more doubtful,

But don't take it the wrong way, i am not calling him a liar, i just have my doubts

Thanks.

Well, what proof do you need?

PixelNation profile: http://pixel-nation.org/index.php?action=profile;u=20

Here is Hello World in C:

#include <stdio.h>

char *forum;

int main(char argc, char *argv[]) {
forum = "SRL";
printf("Hello, %s!", forum);
return 0;
}

In PHP:

echo "Hello SRL!";

In HTML 4.0:

<html>
<head>
<title>Hello SRL, in HTML</title>
</head>
<body>
Hello, SRL!
</body>
</html>

In 8086 Assembly:

db text "Hello, SRL!$"
mov ah, 09h
lea dx, [text]
int 21h
mov ax, 4C00h
int 21h

Ok, I'm done.

Currently, it's the school holiday, and I still have one week left of it ;).
As for the 6 and a half days scripting, is it really all that hard to write in Pascal? Once you learn C, every language is based upon the same things: arrays, integers, strings, chars, etc. just worded differently:

int number;
number = 5;

var number : Integer;
number := 5;

Oh, and the website, yes. (Sorry for triple post)
That should've actually expired on October, so I'm not entirely sure why it still works…
I know the alias no longer does. Here is some proof it's mine anyway:

trecool999

I'm surprised you don't have any criticism actually - one of the functions is written two times over lol
I'm also quite surprised that it's 'new'. Is it the only one to support multiple ores or something else?

Blumblebee

2010-04-09 16:43:56

can i ask the point of "weight" in the script?

trecool999

2010-04-09 16:46:48

You can. In future versions, I hope to include banking and estimated times, and weight is required to calculate time spent running.
Until then, it holds no real purpose, just like RespawnTime.

ok, just wondering. I didn't really look through it, that just caught my eye as interesting. I'd say yes, but obviously I don't have to and I didn't really read it well enough to vote tbh.

Tim0suprem0

2010-04-09 21:58:02

This kid's obviously smart, well spoken, and seems quite nice, but he really hasn't been around all that long. He might be a total headcase (sorry tre ;) I think the chances of you being crazy are slim to none, but still).

If he had been around for two weeks even I'd vote yes, but I think I'm going to hold off voting on this one (partly because I realize I could look into his posts on the other communities he's provided, but I'm just too lazy).

trecool999

2010-04-10 06:41:30

Sounds fair to me. It's only logical to wait until I've released the script anywho, which is, by the way, almost done now.

Updated the script. Version 1.00 is almost complete, and it actually includes basic mining and dropping features this time:

I enjoy the mining procedure.

One suggestion, you should add FindNormalRandoms after you click on the rock. Just a little something I noticed.

This looks very well written (Especially compared to most scripts used to apply with). I'll vote yes but C is low-level (-middle level) and C++ is middle-level :P.

Edit: Also (X)HTML, CSS, and XML are not programming languages.
