Upcoming (public) release.

Why hello there dear Simba testers/followers. :)

This week will most likely feature a first (semi-)public Simba release. (Semi-public implying that it will be released for SRL-Members only first.)

So our question to you is, are there any things that you absolutely want to see (or have fixed) before we do a (semi-)public release?

We will probably spend our time this week on writing more documentation, and stabilizing current features. Testing scripts with SRL 4 is hopefully something I'll get to myself as well; Fakawi made some good scripts.

For the interested; here is a list of things we want to add in the next month: http://git.villavu.com/?p=simba.git;a=blob;f=todo.txt;h=3347b27c42bfa3cc30b8fa98b1fbf6c57c7182e4;hb=d6ef12ef159c0531f1b61caccd980eed20f9eb17
The one thing not mentioned on that list is the Script Manager, which I hope to create this week, before the initial release.

Cheers,
Simba Development Team

I just noticed that all my functions don't show up in the functions list. Only the first 4 show up. The scroll wheel on my mouse doesn't work to scroll through the code, I have to use the scroll bar.

When using the function list, I would rather see the function show up at the top, rather than the bottom, but that's just me.

Just a couple things I noticed in the last couple minutes.

E: Btw, I absolutely love the includes feature on the functions list! :)

That is because your code doesn't get parsed correctly by the parser ;). Try doing ctrl + space, somewhere at the bottom and check the console, it will be filled with parsing errors .

About the mouse-scroll, no clue what causes that?? Doesn't happen here, and shouldn't happen anywhere :p

Btw, not sure if the DTM/Bitmap editor will be implemented in time.. They are kinda time consuming to make.

EDIT: Note that when this is released, the interpreter still won't work perfectly, as the result-array is still broken. Thus one needs to include SRL/simba.simb to make it work proper.

Code hints as in the feature that shows the functions parameters when you do something like FindDTM(? If so, I don't have that…

And yes, I have the latest version.

Cohen, you have to type out the procedure/function for it to work. You can't click like you could before. And if you change anything really it seems to mess up. Type out Writeln( and it should work. :)

Oohhh!

Save as default pl0x? :3 I enjoyed that feature in SCAR.

Oh okay I see. Well in that case it would be cool if the code hints showed up when you double click one of the functions from the function list. :)

If you click once, you'll find the declaration in the status bar :)

If it is really the errors in your code, you can fix them and it should work (you probably forgot some semicolons). What script did you try it with?

Mine. I can't see myself forgetting semicolons. Do you know how anal I am about how my code looks? :p

But I will take a look.

Looks like it's a bug in the parser:

else if ((i - 3) < Length(RandSolved) - 1 {for Death}) then

doesn't work, but

else if ((i - 3) < Length(RandSolved) - 1) then

does..

Ahh, I remember raymond saying something about curly brackets behaving weird in Simba. I can't recall using them much for comments, but that may be the problem.

Thanks

I think its more the braces in code statements ;)

It was a problem in my code ;)
I think Raymond meant that Simba highlights nested comments, while Pascal Script doesn't parse them as nested comments.

Well either way, I can't figure out why the functions don't show up. It shows Stats_SendReport as the last function in the script.

E: I'm actually having all sorts of problems with Simba. Idk if it's because I'm running through Wine, but a lot of things don't seem to be working properly.

Have you changed line 385? Anyway, I found the bug and it'll be fixed.

Oh, lmao I didn't realize that was actually part of your stats code. :duh:

The functions list works now. :p

Cohen, is your WINE set to the correct windows distribution? Try playing with the setting, I would suggest XP if its on anything lower.

Worth a shot :)

It was already at XP. I messed around a bit, but I still get the same thing.

Evil bob + Quiz solved successfully :).
Mime fails, but this is broken for SCAR as well :p.

Now I would like to test Leo as well, since this solving is done purely in the plugin..

Woot!
Masta: I tested Leo a while back in simba (2 weeks ago), all credit to icefire, it was absolutely superb, flawless and reliable.
