Hello, this tutorial will explain how to Install Git ( msysgit ) and Simba.

1. Download the most updated version of msysgit.
Download :
http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/downloads/list
Look for something like this :

NOTE: It can be different version, but always download the most updated one!

2. Run Installer, install it ( I used, "Use Git Bash Only" )

3. Now when everything with the installing is done:

- Go to Program Files And right click.
- Choose "Git Bash"

4. Now you will see a Command Prompt popup ( Black screen : P )
Type this in it:
git clone git://villavu.com/simba.git
and press enter, now it should start Downloading.

I hope you enjoyed :) Ask questions if any.

NOTE: You can use TortoiseGit if you like to use GUI :)

Download: http://code.google.com/p/tortoisegit/downloads/list

1. After installing right click to Program Files and choose "Git Clone…"
Put this Git URL :
git://villavu.com/simba.git
In URL Box :) And choose where to download and press OK.

Few things:
You probaby don't want Simba in your SCAR folder; and the git clone already creates a new directory.
It may be also worth noting that for the people who are absolutely afraid of the console - there is tortoisegit.

Not to familiar with git….I've downloaded both versions, and nowhere on either do i see an option to clone ? ..When i get to the dos prompt from bash, it tells me the directory is not valid ? it created a new one named git on the desktop, and i also tried creating a new folder for Simba, but no luck….

This is my bad. I rebooted the server and have to restart the git daemons. Give me a minute.
E: Should work now.

This may seem like a really dumb question, but is the simba.exe not suppose to come with the download?

I think this is developers' repository, so it's only source. You either compile it or download the binaries apart.

No questions here, TurtoiseGit worked on the first try! Here's how I did it…
After downloading and installing TurtoiseGit, I highlighted and copied the Git URL above. Then opened File Explorer, navigated to the directory I wanted the files to be copied to, and right clicked. You'll see an entry for "Git Clone…" above TurtoiseGit, click it and it will use the URL from the clipboard. Change the target dir and/or hit OK. That's it! (ps, I've used TurtoiseSVN before, works pretty much the same way and that's how I knew. :D)
Rep'd +1
