He has stolen accounts and is now giving them for free at SRL.
So he can obviously not be trusted.

I agree something should be done.

I thought about an infraction, but I wasn't sure what other people would have thought about that as I wasn't sure how this fell under the rules.

Pretty funny how some people just randomly accepted the accounts.

And I was thinking that he might try to steal accounts on SRL as well.

I don't think a ban is necessary as he was just trying to be nice and he isn't phising anyone here or posting any illegal material.

Well would you rather have someone here that we know is "scum", or would rather have someone that is "scum" without you knowing?
It is better to know you have an enemy, than to think an enemy is a friend.

We know to watch what he posts more closely than others for phishing scams and what not.

Sorry, but I don't see what possible community could be in favour of phishing, other than skiddie communities.

I can think of one SRL Dev that advertises a Master keylogger in his signature…Ban Him too despite all of the positive contributions he has made ?

While we can all hide behind the premise that we are just "Programmers" and RS happens to be the catalyst for our endeavors, the plain and simple truth is, WE ARE ALL CHEATERS….some of us just happen to have higher morals….

I think our morals needs to be made clearer in the Mission Statement, what is acceptable cheating, and what isn't…No sense in banning good talent, but rather try and get them to direct their efforts in a more positive direction….there are plenty of other websites the Friendly Neighbors section that cater to this other activity…

The keylogger is entirely non-Server side though, and is for learning purposes.

What he is doing goes beyond that and takes people's passwords.

While you can argue all of the positive merits of a Keylogger, I think it's safe to assume, that anyone learning about them in regards to RS has only malice intent in mind…Learning to put them on a private server is only the next step…

Perhaps we should ask him where he learned his Phishing Skills ?

I think if you would do an in depth search, you will find many more people that condone this type of activity here in the forums…not saying I condone it, just have turned a blind eye for a long time…in hopes their positive contributions outweigh the negative…

It's not like he's telling people how to phish, he's handing out accounts..in his eyes he's probably helping the community. A PM should suffice. And you'd probably be suprised, some of the most respected members here have dabbled in phishing, myself included (like 2.5 years ago, unsuccesfully). Have a couple of phished accounts myself that were given to me..one called Shroom Ranga :p

For me the key point is he didn't phish from people at SRL. Indeed it is negative behaviour, but I would be more inclined to a stance similar to RAM/Claw's where by informing him we dislike those sorts of practices and perhaps making it a bit clearer in a wider light.

It's bad, bad, bad.. You have no idea how addicted people can be to Runescape! Sad, but most of these addicts have the brains of a nutshell.. So phising is like stealing from the poor! Bad bad bad! I can tell.

Buckley was one of the people I was talking about, didn't want to mention any names…it was years ago, dunno if he's still doing it.
