How is the windows support now?
msysgit has pretty good windows support. It has a shell for the terminal people and "git gui" / "gitk" for the people who prefer GUIs. It also comes with a small MinGW suite. ssh/sshkeygen/gnu utils. It's pretty complete.
However, that's my opinion. Perhaps a few devs can check it out, and see how they like it.

What are the exact advantages? Because all that I do with SVN is pretty much Commit/Update.
- Work offline. You can commit locally, and push all your changes later.
What does this mean? You can test locally, have several revisions locally, go back a revision, change it a bit more, and then commit all your changes to the server. With SVN? You cannot commit locally. You cannot test locally whilst having different revisions. You can only diff against head.
- Much better branching support. We currently don't use them because svn braching stinks.
- Fine merging support. It often auto merges nicely. (svn's sucks)
- Faster.
- Distributed. Everyone has access to the full repository, and all the history, locally!
- Nice web interface.
- More suitable for releases.
- Much better workflow. A non SRL developer can simply clone the srl repository, make some changes, and I (or another dev that can push to the main repos) can pull changes from his repository and push them to the SRL main repos. No applying his patches, just pull and you're done.
There are a lot more, but I think these are the most important to us.
EDIT2: Watch it to 25 minutes or so. It's really informative:
