Chocolate bar
Please do not buy these until a decision/vote has been made if this is the item you all want to participate in.
Hey guys,
This is the first F2P item I have found with a low enough supply for me to be able to solo manipulate. I'm already doing very successful with it. Started it a few days ago and it's going very smoothly right now. Bought out at max price, and I still have a lot of gp left to keep it going.
I thought if you guys put your 700M or so into this too, we could certainly take it very far. I was thinking with just me alone, I could take it to at least 500gp. With your guys help, I think we could take it even further.

One of my accounts buying the item out.
I really think we could go far here. Chocolate bars are not easy to obtain, and we could buy several million bars. The limit is 10k per 4 hours, but I haven't hit the limit in a while. It's pretty dried up, buying slowly at max.
Anyways, let me know what you guys think and if you want to join in.
Thanks :)

Food Store in Port Sarim.
Cooking supply store and bartending supply store in the Grand Tree.
Cooking store in Yanille.
Baker's stall in East Ardougne.
Culinaromancer's Chest.
Rok's Chocs Box in Nardah.

All F2P stores have like 10 bars max, which is pretty much nothing. The P2P one in Ardounge has 100, but still, that's not a big deal.

Really can't see it being worth running between draynor bank to port sarim shop and back. It takes a few minutes for the 10 to recharge again, so like the most you could do in an hour is maybe 100.
Went up another 12gp today, buying very slowly at max price. Btw, on runehq it shows an infinite amount of chocolate bars in Nardah, but that's outdated I checked. The max is 10 there too.

It was a price ceiling that was already on the item. They didn't drop the price of those items, they just hit their ceiling.
Chocolate bars have over doubled since then and I haven't seen a price ceiling then. After September 09, chocolate bars actually started going down in price, so this isn't because of the shop update, this is because of me…

It's been my experience, that people that wish to train a skill, will buy a large quantity at a time, with the 10k limitation of buying from the ge, this puts an added value on them already…I'm not sure of F2p, but I know these are sold on the street in world 2 P2P with junk….
Edit: I would say…
Chocolate dustwould be the item to merchant ;)…easy enough to crush and increase value of bar…or perhaps this was someones RWT method already ?……hmm

I really don't think there are any low supply items in existence that would work like that. The only things I can think of are maybe like Pure Essence, Yew Logs, nature runes..etc. that might work out like that. But even then, once you go to sell your (many millions in the case of these large supply items) there won't be a large enough demand to buy them at that price, because the demand was artificial in the first place.

Chocolate dust is just going up because chocolate bars are. They're chained items (not by Jagex, but by the market it self). Just like runite ore and runite bars are chained. One goes up so does the other.
It took me 5 minutes of reading what you said to try to figure out what you said, but I think you were suggesting I am trying to use you guys to increase the speed of a RWT method? If my method was crushing chocolate bars for 50-100gp profit on each, making maybe 2k dust an hour tops, that's a 100-200k per hour money making (not rwt) method.
Well, you're right, at these prices, it's hardly worth doing, but if the price was more, then it would validate it…and yes, trading from 1 account to another, crushing, and trading back would be considered RWT, as you're transferring wealth from 1 account to another…although the price on these would need to more than quadruple to have it even considered a relevant method…
and yes, I am always questioning people's motives, even old friends like you ;)…wondering why you got so mad at people wanting to buy these in GE without you ?
edit: and about linked items…I've noticed this trend with poison and other items…is there a set percentage that linked items will fluctuate when others rise ?

If the price was more, how would it make it any better? They have stayed about the exact same amount apart this whole time. Chocolate dust being about 50-100gp above bars… If there was like a ridiculous 1k difference, a lot of people would be willing to grind for 1-2M/hr, so that wouldn't happen.
No need to question my motive; just ask what it is. My motive is to make gp. With all due respect, there's no need to go all detective on me.
Not mad people were buying without me, but I won't appreciate it if a couple people here buy now, and dump off on me later because we never had a set "clan dump price" because it wasn't an official item.
There are items that are actually linked by Jagex code so that when one rises, so does the other. A good example of this would be like ring of dueling (8) vs ring of dueling (1)..etc.
Chocolate bars with chocolate dust, runite ore with runite bars, are not linked by Jagex, but rather by the free market itself, because one makes the other.
And yes, it would be a money making method. We could call woodcutting on one character and buying the logs on the other a rwt method too, but they could just sell them in the ge.
Just trying to do some successful merchanting… That's all :)

Hmm, but wouldnt it make sense for choc bar + herb to be more than the finished pot? Because you pay for the xp you gain in making the pot.
My guess is people are noticing the price rise, so are collecting and then selling on ge. Because of the 10k per 4 hour limit, the accounts we have buying them can't keep up with the sellers, even though we have enough gp. So people put in offers to sell not as max, because it doesnt sell instantly. (i also noticed today, i was getting gp back for each bar - they were buying for below mid, for the first time since we started). If that's the case, we need more accounts buying them. Everyone jump in
now and we could get this pretty high guys. If not, the few of us merching will have to offload (while still making a handsome profit). Meh. Lets wait for JAD.

First of all, I am having some real life problems right now (I will not get into them, since they are really none of your business).
Second of all, my paypal account has been limited due to so many charge backs and accepted gifts/payments owed I assume. I have no way to buy rares to sell off junk with. What do you want me to do about it?

If I was in your situation a week ago I would of made the effort to tell people you were going to be away and to sell their items. You were online after they crashed, as you logged into my RS account and cancelled the offers to buy. You could of came on SRL to post, you could of responded to my offline messages on MSN, or my PM's.
Secondly: You never once mentioned the possibility you wouldnt be able to pay as back. You assured me you had many partyhats on different accounts you could pay me back with if things went wrong - which they obviously have. I don't care how you get the partyhats, you're still selling rsgp so you're obviously not poor, so buy one for market price with some junk or something. Your paypal account has nothing to do with it.
Thirdly: You can't just expect to call the "RL Problems" card and get away with it. You fucked up, and fucked up doubly by not telling anyone about your coming inactivity/about the item dropping and that we should sell. You fucked up again by logging on to my account and also by talking to people I also talk to during this time, so I know you would of at LEAST seen my messages on MSN, and most likely this thread and my PM, so you definately had the opportunity to tell us about this but you chose not to. I lost around 30m waiting for you just to get back to me about what to do, before I got rid of the crashing junk, other people lost alot more. I also had to sell an easter egg for about 150m below market value, so that's another loss.
If I was in your situation now, I would buy some partyhat's for market price off the forums (since you cant use paypal), and then sell them for normal price to the people who lost money and are stuck with junk becase of this. Then your investors know you havent scammed them, no one's angry, and you've lost some more gp but it's completely your own fault. Don't try and say you don't have enough gp to buy partyhats either…if your account was limited, you couldnt be selling them, if you had none, you couldnt be selling them, you bragged you had billions so theres no way you don't have enough to pay us back. People go to jail for this IRL, its called fraud. As also discussed if you can't pay us back, you get banned from here.

Man, give him a break. Everyone gets real life problems, and to be honest, it's no ones business to know exactly what the problem is. When someone says they're having problems you should assume the worst, and not point out any mistakes they may or may not have made.
You don't think JAD knows everything you pointed out? He knows that he's going to have to pay people back. There's no point in yelling at him about it, especially when it's just a game? I know some people take it seriously, and I'm not saying to forget about it, and deal with the loss because I know JAD, and he will do his best to pay everyone back. Yelling at him isn't going to make him want to get your GP back any faster.
You should just relax and give it some time. I know he could have told people where he was, but again, it's not really anyone's business. Everyone makes mistakes, you shouldn't shove it in their face.

No, an easter is not more than a purple phat when you also left me ~150m rapidly crashing junk and no cash to upgrade the easter with. An easter + cash = purple. It is a nice profit. :)
EDIT: Pic of how many I own

Do you mean rapidly rising merch items?
Back when I got the easter (and believe me, no matter how much you think you know the rare market, I know it better…), it was worth more than a purple.
Just checked, easter is still worth more than purple:

First thread, easter is auto win for it.
Quit over exaggerating the situation claw. That "junk" is worth a lot more than I bought it for, and that rare is worth more than the purple partyhat. You're better off right now than when you started. Your welcome.
Easter +
CASH = purple
Easter + Crashing junk = nothing
So now youre saying I've actually made a profit from you? Ahahahaha. Fuck off. What do I stand to gain from saying all this if it wasnt true?

Look at the graph. I think that they are the highest they've been in 180 days. If not that, they are at least not crashing, and are still raising.

That seems to be a handsome profit.
Agreed the chocolate bars are at an all time high :p nice amount you have timer ^^

=\ Obviously when an item youve got hundreds of mills invested in crashes you're not gonna keep it on the off chance it rises higher than what it was, which is usually very unlikely.

A merchanting clan (hero_merch) is doing chocolate bars right now (just to explain why they went higher after the crash).

As I just showed you, easter is autowin for purple, meaning average trade is easter + some junk for purple easily.
Lets do some simple math. I started buying bars at 260, they started crashing at 390. So the chocolate bars on average were bought at approximately 325. They "crashed" to 295 (hardly a crash, more of a small price fall), then have gone back up since then. So, unless you sold them at the absolutely 100% wrong timing, the most you lost is 10% on your gp invested (about 20M), which is easily made up for by the junk you could get rid of with easter for purple.
I doubt you sold at the absolutely wrong time anyways, but even if you did, you'd be fine.
Can we use facts, logic, and numbers instead of curse words, disrespect, and emotional thinking?
Your welcome Claw.

Wow, youre stupid. Lets do some simple math (third or fourth time for me to explain this):
Started - Purple (worth about 400m-450m depending on junk)
Ended - Egg + ~150m junk I had to sell or risk losing it all (worth 90m + 150m)
Does that make it any clearer for you?
Another way of looking at it: If I made a profit, which you keep saying I did, why is my current bank value less than what I started with, before the merch? By definition, thats not a profit.

Pardon me if I'm missing something here… But since Purple = Easter (with a possibility that Easter > Purple), your first bank just had a Purple, now you have an Easter PLUS junk, so the difference is the junk, in your favor. EDIT: Not to mention it isn't actually 'junk', judging from some recent posts.
Your 90m and 450m figures don't make any sense, since they appear to be wrong, or can you prove that people are willing to trade 5 Easters for a single Purple?
As for why your bank value is less now, it seems that you overestimated the price of the Purple from the start and/or the Easter went up and you haven't realized that yet.

So, I'm guessing those are current and correct, I just searched the Ruescape forums for them.
Started - Purple (worth about 400m-450m depending on junk)
Ended - Egg + ~150m junk I had to sell or risk losing it all (worth 90m + 150m)
The VERY LOWEST price an egg was successfully sold at was the 283M.
And you say the junk you have is worth 150M.
283M + 150M = 433M
So assuming your purple was/is worth even what you said was the max 450M, you have lost only 17M.
If we assume your purple was/is worth the min you stated, you have gained 33M.
So it looks to be like you are back to even (-17M / + 33M).
So can we please continue this debate using sources to back up our prices?
(Sorry if my prices/anything is wrong, like I said I just went off of the forums)

You're right except you need the junk to sell the egg with in the first place - unlike with purple, where people will trade you cash AND egg to make up the difference. A common deal is easter egg (300m street price) + ~200m cash to balance (cbf looking up prices atm). The lowest you saw egg go for was 283m, I had to sell for around 260m (with some other junk) a couple of weeks ago. And I didnt have enough cash to upgrade it to a purple. I spent days trying to find a deal with royal or other risings but couldnt find one, and was losing like 6-7m a day just holding the bars.
Edit- This whole thread will be confusing for those who dont understand the way the rare market works these days in conjunction with merchanting and buying out items on the GE. If you dont understand dont worry about it, use
Occam's Razor - if it was a succesful merch, and I didnt lose any money, I wouldnt be making these posts.
Anyways, I dont care. JAD also owes 600-700m or so to other SSRL's and above because of this, not including my loss. Also, he got one of our accounts permenantly banned for bug abuse (dragon bolt dupe….he will deny and say he bought the bolts from someone, but how does 160m cash just appear in someones bank the day before they get banned? at the same time the bolt dupe was out. plus, jagex no longer ban for receiving autoed/bug abused goods as no one profits except the account the rules were broken on and they get banned anyway so theres no net gain in wealth). I have also heard from another person (SRL Member, most of you wouldnt know him) that JAD ditched him in a merch.
This whole thread TL;DR - JAD doesnt care about you, your RS accounts or your money, he just wants to make a quick buck anyway he can. This thread proves it and shows his arrogance and inability to even admit he made a mistake, let alone give the money back (which he promised he would do if things went bad). I highly reccommend you dont do business of any sort with JAD.

Although JAD didn't "scam" me, he somewhat "conned" me.
With the transfer guide he said that a certain item would work aswell as another but it didn't and he sold it overpriced to me then after we had done the trade (including paypal) he said, well atleast they should work…
So yeah, I would go with Claws advice.

I have done like 6 or 7 with JAD…One was kind of annoying because he owed me money for a little bit, but it got sorted out in time. You have to be cautious with everyone you trade with, no matter how much "respect" they have. Who knows, you might be the one they decide to scam.

Yea, he has had many successful small trades in the past. My opinion stands
Claw: I didn't realize you made a bad trade, selling your egg with the chocolate bars. Really nothing I can do about that. If you hadn't made that bad trade, you'd have large profits right now.
The only person I owe anything to is Coh3n I believe, and I'm making his gp back for him. You're really pulling your numbers about how much I owe SSRL's out of nowhere though.

To my understanding, your deal with JAD consisted of him renting your account. If he made a mistake, he would repay you. He never made a mistake. He never told you to sell the Easter. You did so yourself, and because of that lost a ton. If you had done what JAD told you and only what JAD told you, you'd be sitting here with a profit.
It's not JAD's fault, and you appear to have no right to be accusing and portraying him in the way you have been.
If he owes money to other people, those people have done the right thing and are talking to him privately. Apparently he hasn't wronged anyone, since nobody has posted.
