Percent of Resources Autoed?

Back in the day, I remember someone figuring that probably more than half the coal going through the game was autoed. Those were different times though, when the randoms were easier and trade was unlimited. I'm kinda curious what you guys think about how much autoing is supplying the RS economy right now. How much of our resources (most significantly coal, yew, and essence) are coming from bots?

No-one really knows

I don't know if there would be any way of figuring that out….
Can't really distinguish between autoed and non autoed goods, and we dont even know how many people auto and how much etc etc.

Well that helps a little yohojo lol.

well my calculations lead me to believe about 34.53294% of all items are autoed, or generated by autoed means.

How exactly did you calculate that? :P

:p That's SOME ores from ONE script. Not all scripts have stats, especially RsBot/Nexus bots , but yeah, lol :]

quite simple actually

I pulled a number out of the air, and divided by 1, and threw a percent sign at the end. :)

Together with the experts at random.org, I actually calculated the exact number myself!
14% of all resources on runescape is autoed.

Hmm makes me think of my old iron miner, wish ran for 3 years by other people. 1 load iron every 7 minutes, calculator plox? And don't forgot how much wizzup's script did mine, en pentti's…

But I think Brain might actually be very close with 34.53294%

Pretty sure a good amount of coal comes from Managing your Kingdom. Likewise, mahogany and maples almost exclusively come from there I'd imagine.

yes, I am sure it is way over your head, and don't both asking a proof, there isn't enough space on the entire internet for it.

It's probably around 5%

I know this isn't resources, but it's well related to the topic.

In Soul Wars there are normally 250 or so players on each team that get into the game. The day of, and after, the latest Hitpoints update (which threw most botting sites off for some time) There were around 30-50 players on each team.

That suggests that 80% of the people playing Soul Wars are bots. I know this could never be true, but it has to be somewhere close to that amount if so few people were playing the day after the update…

According to Tip.it's poll on opinion of the HP change, 40% did not like it. If we subtract 40% from we get about 100, so I think its closer to about 1/3.

But yeah, doesn't help that Soul Wars is easy to bot :)

I believe RS economy would be very very different if there wasn't any autoing. Raw materials would cost more and very expensive items, such as godswords, would cost less.

EDIT:
This is only Perfect Fighter's money gained:
That's 78 billion gold, and that the prices are often outdated, many times the bot calculates the prices cheaper than they actually are. That means that only Perfect Fighter has possibly made 80-100 billion gold to RS.

And here in the bottom left-hand corner you can see status of all the "CS" script users online. 2 minutes ago it was 2105. Atm there are 112,436 players in RS. That means that almost 2% of all players in RS are using CS-scripts! And that site is fairly unpopular in the iBot script provider sites, so probably there are 2x as many people using bots from www.rsbots.net at the moment. Add there all the people using Perfecticus' scripts, as they are very very popular and famous. Add there all RSBot users.

Most likely more than 10%, maybe even 20% of people in RS are using bots. As bots most likely collect more resources than legit players, the percent of all resources in RS from bots/macros can be quite close to 30%.

I know for a fact Approximately 80 percent of soul war are bots.
Because I've been using auto soulwar pro for a while, on average, approximately 140-180 are playing, but when the update came out, only 20-30 people were playing.

I think we should try and put that to a test. Every RuneScape macroing community should just stop botting for three days and cancel out all their goods in the Grand Exchange.

I'd love to see the result :)

There is 90.5m coal in circulation this month.
There is 72m Yew Logs in circulation this month.
There is 271m Willows in circulation this month.
There is 470m Maples in circulation this month.

Those are quite common botted items. The best way to see how often an item is botted is to look on the graph. Some items have been botted for such a long time. There price is a flat graph. Or relatively flat.(Eg. Willows + Maples) Some items like Yew Logs, are used so commonly in other skills, Like fletching, fm and wc that the graph depends on how much bots use them, and how many legit players use them. Other items like Iron ore rise so much because they are not botted as frequently as they used to, and people are wanting them more for steel bars + iron bars.
