Under a double-elimination tournament, Canada would have to beat the US twice to claim gold, but that's not how this was set up so there's no point in griping about it. I'm glad the US kept it interesting!

Insane game!!! Zach Parise scores with 27 seconds left in the game!! It was sssooo good. And of course it had to be Crosby to be the one to score. Great gold medal game all around, couldn't have asked for a better game.

U.S.A beat Canada because of luck, Brodeur made 3 bad plays that ended up in the back of the net, Luongo didn't play much better but Canada still won.

In game 1 Canada outshot the U.S 2:1 (46 shots to 22) and they lost, and in the final game the score could have easily been 5-1 (aside from the countless scoring chances they had 3 posts in just the third period!)

So no, Canada did not win with luck, rather the U.S.A lost close… with luck ;)

How can the defense possibly not let the other team shot at all? The goal here (I'm so punny) is to make the USA take shots from the outside with bad opportunities, which Canada did, but Brodeur choked a little when they played last time.

Is this supposed to be a surprise or something. It's always (or at least it will always be) Canada or Russia for the next 10-20 years.

E: USA was surprisingly good, and Sweden was surprisingly bad.

E2: Finland got bronze so I'm happy, although I don't like hockey that much.. I just live in one of the probably 5 countries in the world that care about ice hockey at all.

It's the first gold metals won on Canadian soil by Canadians
