8.8 magnitude off Chillie 10 hours ago generated a Tsunami. Our emergency sirens are going off here in Hawaii. Also people in California/west coast are on track. All pacific islands have warnings, including east coast Asia.

Well the waves that are coming are 8 feet only. I've surfed 8 foot waves. But in a tsunami, an 8 foot wave rushing at you at 50 mph is something reallly different.

According to CNN the first 'system' of waves have hit. They are expecting several systems, with each one getting stronger.

Right now the water is receding and waiting for more. The 2nd 'system' is hitting now. No damage or really noticeable right now.

My uncle and his wife is living in Santiago, some miles from the center of the earthquake, and my mom has been trying to get in contact with him the whole day. When she finally got in touch with him he told her that the chimney and a wall had fallen down, they hadn't gotten hurt but they will have to repair on the house.

I have never seen my mom like that :S
