A plane is flying 200 M/S at 20 degress incline, it drops a package and it took 46 seconds for it to hit the ground.
Assume no air fricition and acceleration is at 9.8m/s.
what was the distance of the plane when it dropped the package?

I got 7k

What did you use?

7k was right
1/3 of my class though it was moving north 20 degrees as in moving at west then turn north 20 degrees, the other 1/3 though that "falling" only started to count when the velocity is negative (towards the ground) and the other 1/3 though about it the way i did.

Did you google it or something? You need to use radians
sin(20*pi/180)*200*46+(-9.8*46*46/2)

or use wolframalpha which notices that 20 radians is a lot, and so assumes degrees for you

:p it's the same thing (if I had the units it'd be, anyway). I was just saying that because I wanted to look smart like you, but you already gave the answer. ^^

Bonus points for distance between plane and package at packages peak, and height of plane when package hits ground, white text spoilers
