Which Is Cheapest?

Which method of paying for RuneScape member would be cheapest: Pay-By-Phone or SMS.

The price for Pay-By-Phone is 7.99, and the price for SMS is 11.95. I'm worried about the additional fees for the Pay-By-Phone since it would be a long distance call (I live in the US).

I need everyone's opinion. Thanks!

SMS, as you can buy a pin for 3 or 4 dollars.

Pay by phone. I have a pre-paid (will upgrade) AT&T phone. And I think it only deducts a dollar extra, not sure. But pay by phone seems like the best option.

Edit: NCDS, SMS is 11.96.

You could try buying one on an RS Black Market site (Sythe, or RSBot's blackmarket) for 3-4$. To guarantee a successful trade, pick the seller with the most (positive) feedback. They may be a dollar or so more expensive, but it's worth it.

EDIT: That is if you have the means by which to do so. Otherwise, probably the only way you can figure out the PBP cost is by contacting your service provider.

For the Pay-By-Phone, do I use a land-line phone or a mobile phone? I'll use mobile instead.

I meant off a Black Market. I apologize, I should have specified.

I think the prices listed when you click 'Upgrade Account' at runescape are the real prices. So based on that, pay by phone is cheaper (I think it says landline or mobile works now).
You can buy 'membership pins' at Sythe or RsBot forums, but you gotta be safe, make sure you dont get scammed , and are buying from a TRUSTED person. If you get a bad pin and jagex finds out, they will lock your account until you pay for one month of membership that you 'owe them' but buying pins on black markets like Sythe or Rsbot is the cheapest.

Sythe and RSBot charge about the same for a pin as a normal Pay-By-SMS though dont they?

Which is crazy! The pins at Sythe/RsBot are like ~3$ only. :]
I really wonder how they afford to sell them for so cheap….

I'm sure there's some way to get them for free, which is how they do it. :p Or something like that.

And Tad, your reflection is broken, which is why Wizzup? said that. >_>

Most likely not by fully legal means..

Yeah, which leads to accounts getting locked since jagex usually knows. Yet some of these guys sells tons of pins, and don't get complains.. hmmm

Usually the method is gotten through legal channels (ie a legit phone), but by illegal means (asking to use your friends cell phone quick, etc.). If you think about it, it's pretty easy to find a phone and its number, and be able use it. I think a lot of people (or corporations, depending on who you're scamming for pins) don't notice a 10$ charge.

Since their production cost is 0, 3-4$ is pretty good profit.

Pbp is cheaper iirc. Also, I suggest being careful with buying pins from sythe etc., atleast for main accounts. I've heard of people getting their accounts locked months after buying illegal pins.. The sellers obviously don't pay for the pins themselves so there's always a risk involved with those..

Could be that they use sites like playspan, prizerebel etc and get Ultimate Game card codes? Its easy and legal and they get money for it by selling it with not having to pay for anything :)

I don't think so, as that's still a lot of work.
They probably have some dedicated PIN lines or something like that.
