It would have to be recorded to be multi-platform, but right now it is not possible

The Gecko engine would allow this.

Yes it uses IE. But IE doesn't use Gecko.
Gecko is the engine used by Firefox and other projects. (IIRC)

I know that by default languages (VB.NET is all I've tested it with) uses IE when you make your own "browser." Is there any way around this? Like.. Making it use Firefox/Google Chrome? Both of those browsers are much faster and much safer. (Firefox would probably be better, as more people use it, but Google Chrome is all around faster. And Google Chrome is open-source, as far as I know, so that might help, I think.)

Firefox uses Gecko and Chrome uses WebKit, I believe. Both engines are open source and both can be used. It's not likely Appa will be converted as it's probably easier to start over again with another engine.

Well I think using Firefox would be very beneficial. Both because it's faster and safer, and because both Linux and Windows support it 100% (I think). I think it'd be pretty useful. :3

Webkit would be a good choice, it's small, fast, and works on damn near anything (though we don't need Simba to run on phones and such :p)

firefox is open source

IS appa just a browser with a bunch of functions? or is it more complex. I was thinking if it was not amazingly difficult i could try.
