Directory separators? ( liek )

Should Simba seamlessly allow / and \ to be used for directory separators, leaving the file (open/rewrite) functions to switch between them as needed? The problem with this is then when you want to access the file "cat/dog.txt" or "meow\woof.so" or the like.
Should it be up to scripters to implement both or should a new character be used as a directory separator that file (open/rewrite) functions change the appropriate separator?

A bit of food for thought - nom it up good.

IE uses / because most servers are non-Windows, thus use what everyone else uses

SRL doesn't actual compile on Linux though, firstly due to caps-sensitivity (gonna be a lot of these to sort out). Secondly because there's no .so's of the plugins :)

Anyway, if Windows is happy enough to just use /, then I guess there's no problem. Yay bug/features!

Well.. I can export the "Directory Separator" -> it would return "\" for Windows and "/" for linux.. However "/" works fine on Windows, so I see no reason to use "\"..

Because everyone is supposed to use /. \ is only used on Windows to separate directories and even Windows doesn't really support it that well. All other systems use /.

Why dont we define our own symbol?

SRL卐Core卐Antirandoms

Not like it makes any difference if it works

/ works on Windows too.

I guess we could export a symbol "DirectorySeparator" for Simba?
