It obvious is because the runescape.exe saves stuff on my computer, but still.. AVG blocked it from doing so.. Maybe it's a way to stop JaGeX from saving all those .dat files to my comp? :x

Makes sense.. I had already played via the client for some hours, and I got a random event shortly after the AVG threat window popped up. This proves my theory that the random.dat file is edited shortly before you get a random, as it has happened multiple times (random.dat edited right before the random event)

That doesn't say anything about the UID file being edited before you get a random event??

No, but it got edited. I watched it on purpose so that I could see if it happened again

we can predict when we will receive a random event, hell maybe even the exact event. this will probably be fixed by jagex soon but lets use it while we can

Maybe logout before the random event?

Not sure if this is related, but thought I might give the information up as well since the glitch has long been dead. Back when stronghold of security came out, if you low alched any of the bone staff parts you'd get a random event exactly 30 seconds later (timed myself). I made couple hundred million from random events over the course of about 4 months. I didn't play for a while, then logged in and tried again. It didn't work. They'd patched it. However, if I play with the official runescape.exe client I wont get any randoms. I haven't gotten a random in over a year playing with the client on any of my accounts. If I play using mozzilla, I get randoms, but not with the official client. Could I have somehow broken the random.dat file? :3

^omgwtf. i find it hard to believe that you have not gotten a random in a year. :|

How the hell is that possible? The staff parts are (and always have been) a fairly rare drop, and you'd be lucky to get 4-5 per hour, and the random event gifts back then were a lot worse than today too (today you might get a 15-20k reward in gems or herbs, back then it was lower), not to mention that all prices were lower too, so making a couple hundred million from uncut gems, 100-500gp rewards and random junk seems kind of unlikely… I'm pretty sure you not getting random events is bullshit too, although they're pretty rare these days.

It's possible, the was a minotaur killer way back when, I just edited it to pick up skull halves. I was getting one hit kills. Staff parts practically rained on me. I'd have near a full inventory every half hour. I ran the script pretty much all day every day(I didn't much care for the account). I understand that you think this is bullshit, I did too! But yeah, probably the biggest profit I ever made was when A guy on the forums was trying to get 99 crafting and needed uncut gems, he overpaid by a longshot to buy my rather lage collection of uncuts. Look, I know I don't post much and therefore I'm not reputable and able to be trusted. However, what I'm telling you is true. Your choice whether to believe me or not. Btw, thanks to whoever wrote that minotaur killer ^_^
