I've got no clue why this happens, I did something that might fix this bug.

Sorry for the gravedig but I got this same bug just yesterday. Only happened once though and hasn't happened since.

EDIT: Just started happening to me again. A few times in a row now. Restarted SIMBA and it's ok now?

Sorry for double post, but figured it was better to double post than to create a new thread entirely. I keep getting this often now, i have restarted SIMBA a few times and nothing. I have the latest version of SIMBA and SRL. I'm running Windows 7 64 Bit if that matters?

Chris, it shouldn't matter that you're using Win7 64bit. I run Win7 64Bit (Ultimate), and Simba works fine for me. :< I can try to make it not work later. ^^

Do you happen to have NVIDIAs drivers? If so uninstall and download the latest. My SCAR color picker used to do the same with 2 screens, but updating my drivers helped.

No, I'm on ATI. I have a little bit more information on the bug. I was trying to pick a color and then realized i hadn't set the client. I picked the color without having the client set and that worked fine for me. Then i set the client to get the proper coords and tried to pick the color again and the screen went black. But now it isn't doing it again.. It's a very fickle bug. lol

Does the colour actually get picked when you click? Or does it return black?

It returns black, obviously. The colour shown is directly from the bitmap.

Yeah, Wizzup? is right. It returns 0.

I have the same problem on my Windows Vista 32-bit.
GetColor function returns 0 in every point of the selected window.
But "Pick a Color" Tool works correctly.
Also reproduced on Vista 64-bit.

Please check the other thread you posted the same problem in. Everything I wrote on that post applies to this thread…

i found that the GetColor function returns 0, because it can not see the flash application in the browser and getting color from the background of web page.

take a screenshot of the application, then use getcolor, that'll probably work

Sure, it would get the color, but he can't use it for/with anything (He can't search for bitmaps, dtms, colors or anything of the like because the screen is all black)

I think you guys are talking about a different issue. The famous ``Black screen in colour picker'' issue has been fixed quite a long time ago. You're probably talking about applications using some sort of hardware acceleration that doesn't show up in a normal BitBlt.

I have 2 monitors and it only ever allows me to pick colors from my primary monitor. Not a big deal though (RS open in one monitor, simba up in the other smaller one… [/nerd])

IRON bumped the thread with another question which I answered :)
