Can Jagex detect mouse movement?

I know jagex can detect where on the screen can click and if your clicks aren't randomized…. but can they detect if your mouse doesn't move while an action is being done? Or only clicks? Since I know the mouse is client side and when you click it sends the click to that application etc….but can they detect if your mouse is just sitting there? Or if your mouse is flying around the screen and not clicking anything?

Examination of the source code says yes… they record mouse movements.

And according to Wannabe jagex trolls, they can reconstruct your mouse movement on their computer screen back in Cambridge.

Not to worry, MMouse is very human like

Yeah but say for 2-3 hours I'm doing herblore, and while the script is waiting for the account to finish mixing the potions the mouse just sits there, and when the potions are done it waits a random 30-100ms(average human reaction time) and clicks the bank.

Can they detect if I'm just sitting there and not moving mouse during these clicks, you think I could tell them that I was watching a movie on the other half of my screen? Would they even detect it if I'm not reported seeing as how many players play, you would think that someones mouse sitting till a load is done would be normal. All my clicks are randomized on the items I click so it never clicks in the same spot… its just the mouse sitting there that has me worried. Should I make the mouse move offscreen while waiting as if I was on youtube/in a browser doing something, or is this even possible when using smart?

See what I'm thinking is, if they could detect your mouse movements could they detect it in other windows such as when you moved over to a web browser, or can they only detect it when you hover over the runescape client?

short answer:yes they can but it wouldnt matter. not moving your mouse is not against the rules. and repetitive tasks like herblore and fletching, youre bound to click in the same place at least a few times. heck i can get a away using ghostmouse doing fletching. just make a cycle of bout 50 times or more. and you shouldnt get caught.

i imagine they map your mouse movement and wait for a repetition. but they cant have all mouse movements mapped so its a cycle. 2 in a row excatly the same will get you banned, but 50-100 difference you shouldnt get detected.

I know not moving the mouse isn't against the rule, but weird mouse behavior that varies from my normal behiviour can make point to macroing…. I'm just trying to try this as least detectable as possible… I'm probably just paranoid, but it's good to be paranoid if it can easily happen… Normally I notice most people don't get banned unless they make extreme autoing mistakes or get reported. Better to be safe than sorry, specially when macroing 100k potions on a maxed combat account. I never afk and always catch randoms and people trying to talk to me… Just trying to be safe

yes and actually i had an idea about a script i wanted to make. you see your theorized fear flaws in the fact that you assume jagex profiles people and compares their regular game play to what every1 macros with - srl. this isnt the case lol so you have nothing to worry bout. although my script idea that i wanted to try to think about was to make a user defined script.

1 that would have you make say 5 trips of whatever you were doing and then create a custom template to the users ingame behavior.

it would be a very complex project one that i could never achieve. but maybe, just maybe the devs could possibly make this. although i doubt they care to since its unnecessary. so i never presented this idea lol.

No, they can't detect your mouse moving in other windows with the client.

And yes, they record and send both your mouse clicks and movements to the server, though it's likely most of the data is discarded after a certain period of time to conserve space on the servers.

Though remember the game can flag unhuman like behavior.

I just made it so my script after clicking make all potions it moves the mouse to a random spot on the screen and waits, atleast it's more human like.

Also, something that I do to increase efficiency and it makes it more "human-like" in my opinion is to move the mouse to the bank and then wait. I, myself, right click and move the mouse to the option while waiting, but that's just me.

Hmm well, when I use lumbridge basement bank, it opens with 1 click. I was doing that earlier, hovering over the bank while load was finishing….but not sure why I stopped.

:p Randomness is always good, as well. And hovering over the next step is quick and looks better, because I don't know anyone who just waits for it all to finish, and then does the next step.. They usually anticipate the next move, since humans can think. :p

yup + i was just wondering bout how easy it is to tell when ppl bot since the script takes a step and then rechecks. if it were a human theyd just keep goin.
the made it nice with fflag back in the day but its a bit problematic now…

idk about flagging. then wed all be uber flagged lol but thats what antiban is for. bored human, lift mouse, hover skill 'xxxxxx', etc

I heard from some srl members that they don't record movement, only clicks. but I don't really know.

Apparantly, the mouse movement and click data is kept for 60 seconds then deleted, and is only saved if someone reports you for macroing. Then that 60-second snapshot is looked over by jmods, and if you appear to be botting, youre banned. So if you make loops with randomness and longer than 60 seconds, you shouldnt get banned

Give me 60 seconds of a vid of someone playing runescape (using scar or not) and I am 99.9% sure that I can tell you if he is botting or not. The mouse movement on someone who is botting compared to someone who's not botting is very different..

Thats why you do as much as you can to not get reported, use randomness in your scripts, and use antiban if you're really paranoid. Personally have used some very botlike scripts for long periods of time (sudoku) and havent been banned apart from things like forgetting randomness, moving mouse slightly after a certain action, etc.

Well if they only keep it if you get reported then most people shouldnt have too much to worry about… just play a little legit here and there

Couldn't the systems automatically flag you if it detects irregular inhuman like clicks? Something like, if you click in the same spot at the same rate for an hour straight?

I mean if you do something like alching in your house, then no one can see you and no one can report you. Someone should use a dummy account, and a VERY botlike script with no randomness, while in their player owned house, and see if they get banned. If they do get banned, there's no way at all anyone could have reported this account that no one knows exist.

Yes. ;)

However with windows you can use numpad 5 to click but I saw somewhere here that jagex can detect if you are using that.

Thing I don't understand is… I've been botting for over 3 years, never been banned or infracted and I've left bots clicking on the same target for more than 10 hours straight many many times…

Does living in Australia make me special?
