Hi,

To give a little indication on the current status:

  • SRL 4 compiles (Not works, we still need to add some functionality.)
  • The Pascal Script interpreter is too buggy to make decent scripts in, hopefully it will be fixed soon.
  • Benland100's Pascal Interpreter is very actively being worked on, and it may replace Pascal Script in the (very) near future. (Hopefully it will)
  • We recently rewrote a lot in the core. It shouldn't really break existing functionality. An advantage of the change is that you can seperate the Client "Image Data" from the Client "Key and Mouse" data. That is, you can send read from an image, and send mouse clicks to another client.
  • Frustration on my side as I cannot figure out what triggers this bug: http://mufasa.villavu.com/mantis/view.php?id=58
  • Most functionality is done. A lot remains poorly tested, your help is welcome.
  • Work on SRL 5 will start once we get SRL 4 to work decently enough.
  • Known missing functionality: GetTextAt (will do this weekend or earlier), and FindDTMRotated. All others should be requested as features. (File a bug)

Well hurry up, I want to make those scripts

Ben's interpreter == sexy. :)

I think there *definitely* needs to be some documentation written up for the TIO_Manager stuff. (I mean it all needs to be worked on, but that specifically)

Running:

{$define Simba}
program new;
{.include SRl/SRL.scar}
begin
SetupSRL;
end.

Gets me:

[Error] SRL/SRL/Core/Simba.simb(3:3): Unknown identifier 'GetColorsWrap' at line 3

And:

{$define Simba}
{.LoadDLL WizzyPlugin}
program new;
{.include SRl/SRL.scar}
begin
SetupSRL;
end.

=

[Error] (7:1): Unable to register function Function CreateTPAFromBMP( BmpDC : HDC) : TPointArray; at line 7

How can she compile?

Wizzup, I kinda gave up on the script, as it turned out being more work then silly me thought..

700 lines, and still nothing I would call progress.

Sorry..

Claw, WizzyPlugin is in Simba.

Also, that define seems redundant, I really don't know though.

Yeah, you shouldn't be loading WizzyPlugin. It's all in Simba.

@N1ke: Sure, suit yourself. Perhaps when SRL 4 is working it will be easier? ;)
You could just port a SCAR script.

I just tried that as a way to get this thing to compile. The first error stands

That's because the latest Simba isn't yet uploaded…

What script is N1ke talking about?

I tried making a somewhat advanced script in Simba, though failed as I don't have the time for it.. I might get back to it, in time.. Who knows.
And with SRL 4 working, I'll do it, for sure.

I still got some bugs figured though ;)

:o oop please

For new ``our'' goal is to make it ``work''. Then we would actually have a stable interpreter. OOP is a luxury. :)

Oop is the only compelling reason I see to switch from SCAR to Simba.

I guess you don't really use SCAR for anything but running simple scripts with PascalScript then (non cheating), and that you only use Windows.

The only other good reason I can see to switch is better plugin support, which I've not yet experimented with. The SCAR IDE feels far more natural than Simba. Maybe in time, once Simba is more streamlined, it will be worth the switch.

Until then I'll be using SCAR and VC10.

Hmm… that's fine. You're used to SCAR, so I guess it's pretty normal it feels more ``natural''. OTOH, the current code hints/completion is only a temporary replacement until we (or nielsie) get time to work on and implement nielsie's code completion and hints.

Got to admit the old SCAR feels more natural to me as well, it's just because I've used it for more than 2 years probably..
