I'm just wondering what the best item is to buy straight from the G.E. and high alch and make "good" profit or at least enough that I don't lose money from it. Ideas?

I don't know as there are any that make profit anymore. A couple months ago Air battlestaffs used to make a slight profit (like 15gp ish), but I'm not sure about now..

AFAIK none profit, your going to want to look for least loss.
I try to go from 0-50gp loss per alch, and find stuff sometimes.
f2p would be steel plate/rune dagger
p2p there's many possibilities (if you fletch stuff!)

Steel plates, yew long bows. Same old.

Jagex killed Lost City ruby ring alching :-/

Thank you Yohojo, I have 20k mage logs in my bank but I was like "omg screw fletching and string all of that" :p

http://alchprices.com/ seems like a good site to check what you could use high alchemy on for little to no loss.

Recently, rune maces, rune spears, rune hastas. Those were all dropping when I alched, and I profited buying over mid :o. And along with alchprices, check the ge for alllll of the items. If they're dropping and the item to buy them for is close to (or less than) the ge price, then buy! ^^ Even if it's a little over the price to alch to break even, it's still amazingly cheap. x] And always buy air battles while you alch, since those are cheap. Only 100 every four hours, but it's pretty worth it, in my opinion. ^^

The list is empty right now but there are some items sometimes. And those make profit.
Offtopic: The whole market watch thing at the wiki is great imo.

i guess yew longbows? or green d hide blue d hide or red d hide bods? i didnt lose as much wen doin dem

Dont use yew longbows they terrible.. best that i know of to date is rune brutal arrows and maple longbows
