What do you guys think of 2012.

I think that the whole world ending on 2012 is the result of illogical paranoia casted by popular media.

Is that a good explanation or are you going to throw nostradaumus and some chinese fortune telling boards at me?

There's like 2 threads in discussion/debates section that this belongs in already.

It's all bull, I love the 'I ran out of room on the rock' picture. The only reason it's of any significance at all is because of the 22,000 year cycle of the center of galaxy/sun alignment which explains how the Chinese knew about it.

To put things into perspective, the mayans used to cut their penises, soak a piece of cloth with that blood, and burn it to communicate with imaginary entities.

Nostradamus = crazy idiot.

Catholics eat bread that they believe is the "body" and drink wine that is the "blood" of Christ and there have been cases of people eating actual flesh and drinking actual blood (in the past). All religions are fucked up in one way or another, don't bash a religion if you believe in one. Oh and die-hard Catholics also believe the world is 6000 years old (due to the bible being filled with factual information…).

anyways, Nostradamus is not an idiot, without the use of technology he accurately predicted thousands of years in the future that there will be 3 eclipses during 2012 ending in the lining up of the sun, the earth, (the moon?) and the center of the galaxy.

Now the strongest argument that I have heard to support the end of the world is that the earths polarity is going to switch. Apparently the planets polarity has been fluctuating that or recently and a predicted pole switch could be the catastrophic event that ends our reign on the planet. Without the polar field all x-ray's, gamma rays, UV rays, will all hit the planet without any protection at all, killing off pretty much everything living on the planet.

I watched like a 4 hour documentary on this shit it was pretty cool actually. I don't know how much of that is factual and I'm drawing most of that off memory so some of it might not be 100% accurate but the main jyst of is.

That is what the most logical thing is, but all of the revelations stuff I believe is symbolism and should be viewed as such.

I think the same thing will happen in 2012 that happens on Y2K… Nothing.. Everyone has there beliefs and they can think what they want, but I don't think anything will happen. And if something does happen, then I will be proved wrong.

hmm there was a breakdown of his symbolism and what it all meant, but honestly I can't remember at all so I can't help.

btw I'm catholic too, I just dislike when someone calls other religions complete bullshit when Catholicism has a lot of bullshit in it too.

Edit: Junkj, I believe in god and doing good, but alot of the stuff in the bible has been proven as falsehood. I think that the bible should be taken as symbolism, and not as fact. I reserve the right to call myself catholic even if I dont believe everything that the bible says.

I've read it, and its complete bullshit. It's interesting to read about the absolute bullshit people lived (and still live) by.
