SMART Lowest CPU usage!?!?

Cartmann

Why doese smart set the cpu usage to lowest posible?
I don't even know why runescape made that low cpu, i crashed after it clicked the first TPA (which worked, yay :D)

Why not?
And who crashed what?

RuneScape should run perfectly fine with CPU on lowest

not at all, it's like running counter.strike with 4 fps.

i lagged so much the smart screen just froze.

Really? wow your computer must be rusty O_o

What's your specs?

Cartmann

2 gb ram, some nice intel duo core with 2.00ghz (stole it from my daddies test server :P)

Hm.. Should work fine O_o

Tried restarting SCAR / computer?
I have 4gb ram intel duo 2.66GHz and SMART runs just fine for me

Maybe…
Update the driver and check again, if the problem is still there then you might want to consider buying a new one :)

what gfx card would need in order to be capable of running 120 smart simuntaniusly?

You DO get that lowest CPU usage means that the CPU will be utilized as LITTLE as possible by RS, right? With your specs you should easily be able to run RS on lowest.

You would barely need a gfx card..? Only in HD RS uses your gfx card (openGL). Else it just goes through your CPU afaik.

The newest and best graphics card there is. Nvidia is preferred, Nvidia is more game-focused than any other I know

BTW: 120 smarts is pretty heavy  you should get some awesome debug reports lol

How many accounts do you have btw?
Be sure to have more than one account per smart so minimize the randoms..
I currently have around 260 accounts but I don't think that would be enough for 120 smarts.. I'm thinking around 800 accounts would be O.K :p

The newest and best GPU isn't a nvidia card, and no, nvidia is only preferred by you and what makes nvidia more game-focused then other GPU's?

And yes, only HD uses your GPU.

And I don't think you will be able to get to 120 smarts at once… Not with accessing a database, searching the screen and what not. You may, but I doubt they would run well and may run into problems when 30+ accounts try to search for a DTM or something.

The newest and best Nvidia card IS in fact a Nvidia card… And if you didn't know.. almost EVERY post in this forum is based on their own experiences..
EDIT: atleast my posts are

Exactly why would there be a problem searching on more than one SMART? I really don't see the problem.

I don't claim to have experience of using a 295 and a 5970, but I just checked and nvidia still hasn't gotten their GF100 line up out yet so I can only conclude that you have no experience either because all the benchmarks that were run for ATI's newer GPU's beat out nvidia's card one way or another. Loosen your brand loyalty belt and go look at some benchmarks. Only their 220 - 240 competes now and thats only because ATI is milking their domination in the GPU market and marking up their prices because nvidia cannot compete.

Some benchmarks to prove that ATI has a hold on the market (and I hate that, because it takes away competitive pricing)

http://images.anandtech.com/graphs/rv870_092209122344/20097.png

As you can see, the 5870 beats the 285 in almost all tests. Its not really a fair comparison though seeing as nvidia was caught with their pants down and will be late to this generation of GPU's by ALMOST A YEAR.

And its not a problem of searching on multiple smarts, its a problem of searching for a DTM or something, and having your CPU spike to 100%. This while accessing a database over 120 smarts, I think its pushing it but I cannot be certain as I don't have a server to test.

Well I don't have the greatest computer, but I'd imagine you'd notice it with 120 SMARTS running. And databases take up a lot of CPU but that depends how much database usage he does and what type of usage. But I doubt anybody will be able to give a fair guess because none of us have 32 cores of CPU power to test this. Nor would I feel like making 800 accounts to test this.

My point is no one has the experience of what OP is wanting to do so. And not only that, OP never mentioned which CPU's he had, only that he had 4 quad cores (16 cores leads me to believe its AMD). With nehalem I could see maybe 120 smarts, but not with AMD chips.

Everybody knows what fps means so if we got a low fps we might skip screens which we don't want to skip. I can't think of any example now but that may muck the script up. This is theory by me because I have just heard that scar actually sees what you can see in smart.

@Cartmann: I don't think that more than 1% of the users touched that bar ever. I got it always at default(middle). But depends on the computer so I would say just play with until you find a good state for yourself.

Someone said that Runescape took pictures of you while your playing? if the FPS was slowed, do you think they would notice? btw, something to counter-argue that:
In Counter-Strike, the only way for the anti-cheat system to get a picture of you playing, is via a downloaded client (i think it's voiplay and custodia) without, they can't see what you are doing

Another thing, if I turned the FPS bar down to the minimal, wouldn't that decrease my CPU usage? seeing as it don't have to work that hard on making all these pictures.

Cartmann

Does Runescape lag even when you play in normal client or firefox? If that is the case then delete the jagex cache folder. Its sommewhere in C drive… And see if that helps.

C:\Windows\.jagex_cache_32
I don't think deleting it has much/anything to do with memory, but there's no harm in doing so.

Didn't Fawki test this once?
He autoed on some accounts on one computer and some accounts on the other, deleted the UID on one of the computers and all the players that he'd autoed on on that computer got banned? I've always been afraid to delete it after I heard that story.. Idk if it is true though

Its not about that. I was talking about lag. Once I suddenly started lagging really bad in RS. I searched in google and saw some others also had this sudden lag. One guys advice was delete the jagex cache and see. I did that and It worked fine again…

And my location changes…sometimes its in WINDOWS and sometime in C Drive…

And Zyt3x- I delete that folder almost daily (if I remember) and certainly at least once a week. Nothing happened to my accounts. Is it anywhere in the rules that you can't delete the cache? If not, then they have nothing to ban you for :) I think Fawki's accounts were flagged or it was just coincidence. Many legit players delete it too.

Stop scaring people, completely untrue. Jagex can't ban you for deleting files on your computer -.- Basically all that's in that folder is info and junk left from when you use a signed client, so rs remembers your settings/loads faster when you use signed client.

yeah, you explained this in depth in a tread I started some 3 months ago if I'm not entirely wrong :P

wouldn't deleting your cache make the SMART f*ck up btw?

No, it will download it again.
Unless you delete while Smart is running, I am not sure what will happen then.

You DO get that lowest CPU usage means that the CPU will be utilized as LITTLE as possible by RS, right? With your specs you should easily be able to run RS on lowest.

Isn't java itself on processes priority list set to the lowest and access denied? so it wouldn't make much of a difference
