I don't really see a point in giving money to other countries when they don't give anything back(Besides the French(Statue Of Liberty)) Were 12 trillion $ in debt, do we really have to spend money again? It gets worse and worse this country.

I don't recall seeing such a local drama of Pompeic proportions in my lifetime. I donated.

Although this statement is potentially true,It was taken as a tad bit insensitive….

but I guess no more offensive, then my proposal to buy the Island for salvage and make it a U.S. territory….I figure that if my taxes are going to be spent on another country, we might as well get some benefits from it, to ensure it doesn't return to the 3rd world status it already was….

On a lighter note, I am very hesitant to donate cash to any organization….however, I have helped to organize a food and commodities drive based from our local Food Pantry that I am affiliated with….In the U.S., you can drop any donations off at your local Armory, and they will make sure it get's sent to where it's needed most…

Am I the only one thinking that these are human beings in dire need of help, and that profit rarely comes in account when measuring how many lives you could save/change?

I Second that, Haiti is Full of Poverty, id say ~80% of them live in Poverty.
U.S always came to the aid of any other country, why won't we go now.
if we didnt go, That would make the u.s look pretty bad if you ask me.

Pfft, another hole in the ground waste of money. The rich will get richer from this, and the poor will get poorer. It's how the world works. Nobody can donate to a cause and be 100% sure it is going to help it. I am not donating, it's like giving my money directly to whatever gang related activity/corruption is down there.

Not trying to be a dick, but money would be the least in my mind to give. I'd rather give away physical or mental help besides inanimate objects/possessions. I agree with the Marine help, but not with the money. $100 million in America could be enough to actually help out this country. If you were to have $100 on you, would you spend it on you, or someone else? Excluding the "Someone's" help, holiday, and birthday. What would Haiti give back? They already have an earthquake to recover from.
