How can I move the mouse in an arc?

I've notice that when I move a mouse in real life, its never straight to the correct point, it is usually in a slight arc.

Any way to replicate this in SCAR? To me the way the mouse moves looks very fakey.

Thanks in advance!

For me it's like exactly the same as I doing it. And it's not really a straight line, it already got some arc. Don't worry it's not detectable.

I don't know about you, but I only very slightly arc my mouse movements (only noticeable arcs for long distances). If you wanted to change the arcing amount, you would have to learn how all the stuff behind M/Mouse works (ie splines) then modify the settings it uses to create more curvey movement.

Yeah, it may not be detectable by some automated program, but if you really look closely at how you move the mouse in real life, and then compare it to how the script moves the mouse, it's not even close. Humans make many more mistakes, overshoots, and pauses than most of our scripts have.

If someone from Jagex were to view your Runescape window remotely, (like with a remote desktop app such as PC-Anywhere) don't you think they would easily be able to tell that it was not a real human moving the mouse? I'm 100% positive they would, regardless of how many Anti-Ban procedures there are.

And rest assured they do have a way that any J-Mod can call up your RS window and see exactly what you are seeing on your computer, any time they want. So the key is to make it look as sloppy and unpredictable as possible, the way a real human plays the game. Right now we don't come close to that for most scripts.

I'd be willing to be that for all members who are accused or suspected of botting, they do exactly that, watch your character for a few minutes and see how the mouse moves and clicks, if it is too efficient and neat, I think it would be blatently obvious that it's a bot, and boom, you're gone. Think about it. They have 400+ employees at Jagex HQ, I'll bet some of them do that all day every day.

Just watch my scripts, Jagex! As I have said MMouse totally do the same as me.
I get your point and everything but MMouse proven over the years. You won't get banned by your mouse movements if you are using that.

When I move the mouse, it's like movemouse() :cool:

What about MoveMouseSmoothEx(), is that still a valid command or is it detectable?

It's even harder to tell since it's closed sauce and so no one other than Freddy could vouch for the algorithm behind it.

WindMouse and splines are the most human-like method of mouse moving around. People who have looked at the RS client (after being refactored) have said that although they could monitor mouse movements, it hasn't been setup to do so - most likely because it would generate an insane amount of data to record.

Similarly, I don't think they can view what you view and see how your mouse moves at will - I think it would be a well known thing if jmod'd could because it would have been leaked information by now.

Ultimately, like scientists, it is best to make conclusions based on observation. A general observation is that a lot of people who do use M/Mouse etc do not get banned, such it is safe to conclude that M/Mouse isn't the sole reason for it and as such a large amount are not banned, it is also fair to conclude that M/Mouse isn't detectable.

Well just because someone isn't getting banned using a certain function does not mean it's undetectable, it just means you haven't gotten caught yet. I'm sure that the main reason is the sheer scale of the Jagex organization, they have 15 million free accounts and 1 million paid members, or something to that effect. They have 400 employees. You do the math. Let's assume they have 100 J-Mods who are charged full time with rooting out scripters, and let's assume that 5% of players are scripters.
That means there are 800K scripters and 100 J-Mods. That means every J-Mod has to be responsible for finding 8000 scripters and booting them. Even if it only took 10minutes to review each account to determine whether it was a bot or not, that means they can only look at about 250 accounts per week. That means it will take them 8 months to review all their potential bot accounts. I'm sure that the number is not even close to 100 J-Mods though, I'm guessing 25 to 50. So you can see that even with the help of automated bot-detecting programs, the numbers on their end are just staggeringly huge. They probably see the problem as just something they have to live with, now that they have the real world trading issue under control.
All that being said, I still don't want to get busted if my number comes up and the lone J-Mod happens to peek in at my RS window when I'm running a script. I've put a lot of straight up work into my main character and I'm not interested in throwing that all away.

The black is me and the 3 reds are SRLS mmouse. As this and it seems others have said a human makes more of a curve then a bunch of small ones

The red line is me. The black is the first trial, pink second trial, orange the third trial. They look almost the same to me except I have a tiny bit more of an arc in the middle of the path.

i find they are the same, just WindMouse requires far less understanding, and not so fun :)

I still don't understand the difference between MMouse, MoveMouseSmoothEx, and WindMouse, can someone tell me the difference, please?

Thanks!

MMouse and Mouse use WindMouse.
MoveMouseSmoothEx goes in a straight path to the target point but I don't know anything beyond that since it is hard coded in SCAR and closed source.

Is there any easy user defined way to slow down the movement of M/Mouse - I am trying to use a hover feature while fletching and it kind of looks a bit odd rushing to the hover point…?

MouseSpeed := XX;

Higher value = faster movement.

I think the default is ~25?

Actually, MoveMouseSmoothEx looks pretty non bot like here.

I made a small script, (Here is the code)

program New;
Var
X, Y:Integer;
begin
MoveMouseSmoothEx(96, 82, 1, 3, 45, 20, 10);
GetMousePos(X, Y);
HoldMouse(X, Y, True);
MoveMouseSmoothEx(989, 464, 1, 3, 45, 20, 10);
GetMousePos(X, Y);
ReleaseMouse(X, Y, True);
end.

And when I ran it, I got this:

Looks a bit like SRL's Mouse/MMouse

But, if I increased the forces and gravity on MoveMouseSmoothEx it would look more real

To be honest that curve doesn't look like it is real at all. I'd never move my mouse like that. :) Too curly, perhaps when I am ultimately bored. (Which hasn't happened in a long time)

I increased the gravity (2nd last param) from 20 to 50, and it looks pretty good from here.

Then when I ran

MoveMouseSmoothEx(940, 423, 1, 1, 25, 10, 5);
5 times I got this:

If you want your mouse to look "human" try to keep the mouse speed at somewhere around 12. Always assume that J-Mods could see your screen at any time and watch your mouse movements and clicks. You want your mouse to look totally human.
Having your mouse go from point to point at the speed of light is an easy way to get banned in a millisecond. I know that if I was a J-Mod, that is the first thing I would look for.

It actually seems like it's better to have different mouse speeds in my mind. Like 15 + Random(5) or something.

And I thought this was interesting, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley

Posted by RM. It makes sense.

Here's something to think about when you think of anti-ban; when you lie, it's easy to tell if you're lying by simple things like talking more, putting more detail into things, talking at different rates, etc. And also talking not as much, putting hardly any detail into things, and many other things are easy ways to tell if someone's lying. If we assume that Jagex watches us (which they do to some extent, but nothing like some people think.. :p), we should act like we would if we were good liars. Don't worry, be confident, act as if nothing is wrong, because nothing is wrong (or that's what you want them to believe, anyway), and act like you would if you weren't botting (and acting like that is not thinking/worrying about Jagex. Which is key to lying (and botting, in the same sense. :p).) Make sure you don't think about ways they'd try to catch you. Just bot. ;)

^ That.

Also, pretty sure they don't pick up mouse movements. If people are getting paranoid about mouse movements, why bother botting?

i luffs yeww

2010-03-16 21:36:32

Whoa. Didn't say that. But according to some parts of the RuneScape.jar file (or whatever it is.. x]) they CAN detect mouse clicks, but not mouse movements. For one, that'd involve recording every single coordinate, and would take up way too much time and space to analyze it/hold it. And even one of the PMods said they tend to only look at reported players, but do sometimes look at others. Which makes COMPLETE sense.

Here's another reason that you don't need crazy anti-ban or any crazy auto responders or anything. Jagex is a business. They have to pay people to work for them and work on macro prevention and what not. They don't have enough employees, nor do they have the time for it, to watch all of the hundreds of thousands of people playing the game every day. They, again, are a business. They aim to meet customer wants/needs. They are definitely trying to get more and more players, and making the game better and better, and all the things that every single business does, and they truly don't care THAT much about people botting. :) Just chill and bot. If you're so worried, then just check it every once in awhile. Or watch while you bot. Or don't bot..

Coh3n

2010-03-16 21:42:19

Lol I meant don't bother botting if you're going to complain about something like how the mouse is moved. Nothing's ever going to be EXACTLY like a human.

i luffs yeww

2010-03-16 21:45:44

And if it is, then it's human. x] And if it's a bot, then it's more likely to be inhuman like in it's humanity. (Again, the Uncanny Valley theory.)
